Instead, they showed up to the house and found Escobar with a ten-inch knife, threatening to kill all of them, and he had a noose waiting for himself in the attic, according to a police report.
Upon hearing this, the twin sister of Escobar's girlfriend started running toward the door before Escobar grabbed her by the neck and stuck the knife into her throat.
The woman convulsed on the floor before dying, while Escobar pointed the knife at his girlfriend and told her to go with the child to another bedroom in the home.
Escobar then brought the knife within three inches his girlfriend and said if she refused to have sex with him, he would kill the 1-year-old kid, according to police.
His girlfriend submitted to his demand, and after the sexual assault, he dragged her twin sister's body into another room, the report says.
Family members of the twin sisters who became concerned after they heard that the girls were going to meet Escobar and wouldn't answer their calls then showed up at his house and knocked on the door.
Escobar immediately fled the house and was caught by police early the next morning.
The family later told police that Escobar was always controlling of his girlfriend and "kept a short 'leash' on her."
The woman only stayed with Escobar because he continually threatened to commit suicide, the family told police, and the woman -- who had lived with Escobar for four years -- was planning on moving in with her twin sister to get away from him.
Escobar pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder, sexual battery, armed kidnapping, and the armed kidnapping of a victim under the age of 13. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison on each count -- to run concurrently -- and the sexual battery charge comes with a 25-year mandatory minimum sentence.
