Rick Scott Takes the Lead in Race for "Worst Governor Ever"

Rick Scott, currently the most popular candidate in at least one election.
Gov. Rick Scott's numbers are going up -- at least in the race to elect the "Worst Governor Ever."

Scott was in fourth place around 11 p.m. Monday but is currently in first place as of around 8 a.m. today.

The Florida governor is among nine governors nationwide who are up for the title of "Worst Governor Ever," although a few of the selectable choices, like Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, are currently being bested by write-in candidates in the election put on by the Transport Workers Union of America.

Scott is currently holding a lead over Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who are presently in second and third place, respectively.

The election website doesn't show how much of a lead Scott holds over the rest of the field, and there's no firm date for when voting ends. The website says that it's a "special summer election" and that the appointment of the "Worst Governor Ever" will take place in the fall, which starts on September 23.

Scott's email inbox has apparently run full -- as the election website allows you to send an email to your governor of choice letting them know you've voted for them -- so the emails are now being sent to the governor's communications director, Brian Burgess.

Check out the email you can send to the governor (or his communications director), as well as the video for the election below:

Dear Gov. Rick Scott,

I just voted for you in the Worst Governor Ever contest at www.worstgovernorever.com because of your blatant disregard for the well being of middle-class people in Florida and your attempts to weaken the rights and services that have made our society strong.

I am fed up with being told that we can't afford basic things like education and transportation while the wealthy get handouts. I've heard enough of the attacks on hard-working public employees who, unlike the bankers and Wall Street investors, did nothing to hurt the economy. Let's not attack the teachers but build an education system that works for everyone.

What we need are jobs, quality healthcare, good education and solid retirement. That means funding infrastructure and public programs and making sure people have a voice at work and at the ballot box.

The people of Florida will hold you accountable and we will make sure everyone understands the dire impacts of your misguided policies.

He's a disgusting, subhuman species who has no morals, no principals, no ethics!  An amoral boil on the hide of this state.  Giving political favors to the tune of 8 million to his Teabags!  Parasites, all of them.  Get the hell out of our state, Rick Scott, and take your Teabags with you, and don't come back!

oh please. Enlighten us,  Just what has he done to be doing such a great job.  Hmmm, massive layoffs, cutting every program he can find, creating jobs for his cronies,  I could go on, can you?

You are right, he's not photogenic at all, looks like a giant thumb. As for your definition of great you're the kind of person who make the rest of us shake our heads in bewilderment.
