Hollywood police have arrested a man they say is a suspect in the death of his 62-year-old mother, whose body was found in her home this weekend.

Irene Kertesz's husband found her dead in her Hollywood home around 9 p.m. Saturday, and WSVN is reporting that her son -- 29-year-old Jason Kertesz -- has been arrested on an unrelated charge but has been announced as a suspect in his mother's homicide.

If a murder charge were to be filed against Kertesz, he'd be the third person in just over two weeks to be arrested in the deaths of one or more parents -- joining 17-year-old Tyler Hadley and 21-year-old Gerard Lopes.

Police have declared the death of Irene Kertesz a homicide, but no details related to the nature of her death have been released.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections, Jason Kertesz is no stranger to law enforcement.

Kertesz was arrested on a probation violation, stemming from a carjacking and police chase he created when he was 23.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Kertesz had carjacked someone in Hollywood in 2006, and the owner of that car later found it in a Pembroke Park intersection.

While deputies were verifying with Hollywood police the circumstances of the carjacking, Kertesz got in the car and drove off, leading a police chase down Interstate 95 into Miami-Dade County.

Kertesz eventually got off the interstate, crashed into a tree, and forced police to pull him -- as well as his handgun and crack pipe -- out of the car.

Of course, this was after Kertesz had already done prison time for robbery, grand theft, and false imprisonment, according to the BSO.

Kertesz's Department of Corrections profile indicates he was a fugitive from his probation, although it doesn't state the reason for that. He had just started his most recent stint on probation in April, but the warrant for his arrest was issued on July 19.

Police have not released any further information on Kertesz as a suspect in his mother's killing, and he has not been subject to any formal charges.
