Carolin Pawlak Mueller, a former nurse who followed a dream to become an advice columnist, passed away unexpectedly recently. Mueller was a Delray Beach resident who was well-known in South Florida both for her bubbly, contagious personality and for the cheery advice she gave on her new website.

Mueller gave up a career in nursing a year ago and, after a three-month vacation, decided to start a website dedicated to self-help and advice. She unveiled a redesigned askcarolin.com site recently and posted a video in July with her personal story that begins, "Hi, I'm Carolin. I'm here to talk about how your dreams come true."

Mueller was a regular at South Florida social events and was known for the black Lab, Bubba, that she often brought with her. She started a Facebook page for Bubba that has more than 600 friends. She sent "friend" requests to new acquaintances from Bubba and would add to the page with status updates like this one from Wednesday: "I had a wonderful day and I am filled with happiness and love tonight! My humans are so good to me!"

I never met you personally but heard only great things about you and the lives you touched. I am saddened to hear of your passing and pray that your at peace. Life is difficult, I wish I could have the opportunity to meet you and if Bubba needs a home, I am here to take him. Seeing pictures of you and reading articles brings tears to my eyes. Carolyn was one of the sweetest, kindest, and most personable people I've ever met. My husband Fred and I only knew her for the past 9 months, but she enriched both pf our lives tremendously. We were new to the Delray Beach community, and she introduced us to her wonderrful group of friends and invited us to a number of local activities. Always smiling and shiny as a peenny, she will be sorely missed by us and so many ohters. Rest in peace, Carolin. We love yuo.
