Miami Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall finally gave a statement to police after refusing several times to talk to the State Attorney's Office voluntarily, according to Fox Sports.

Marshall was hospitalized in April after being stabbed in the gut, and his wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, was arrested shortly thereafter.

The charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon against Nogami-Marshall has not yet been pursued, largely due to the fact Marshall hasn't spoken to police since originally telling them he slipped and fell on a broken vase and wasn't stabbed.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Nogami-Marshall "did unlawfully and intentionally arm herself with a kitchen knife and stab the victim in the abdomen," although she told the cops it was in self-defense.

It's unknown what Marshall said in his recent statement to investigators, although a sheriff's office spokesman told Fox Sports that "the investigation continues."

This news comes less than a month after Nogami-Marshall was arrested again, that time for violating a judge's order not to have contact with Marshall or come within 500 feet of his Southwest Ranches home.

Fox Sports says Marshall could be subject to a suspension when the NFL ends its lockout, based on the league's personal conduct policy.

"It's a hypothetical, but I would tell you that we do expect anyone who is involved with a legal issue to cooperate," NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told Fox Sports.
