If a rich uncle plans on leaving you a bunch of cash when he croaks, it might be a good idea to make sure there's nothing wrong with his will before he kicks the bucket -- especially when there are other greedy relatives who want a piece of the pie.

Donald Gertler, a Broward man, has learned this the hard way: He claims that his deceased uncle's lawyer bilked him out of almost $5 million because of "negligence."

Gertler says that Theodore Brill screwed up when drafting Larry Gertler's final wishes in 2008, according to a lawsuit recently filed in the Broward County Civil Court.

Childless, unmarried Uncle Larry decided to leave the lion's share of his $6 million estate to "make up for what Donald's father did to him."

Donald's father, records note, died in 2005, "leaving Donald none of his substantial estate." (Poor thing!)

"Uncle
Larry expressed to Brill a desire to rectify the wrong committed by
Donald's father who, in essence, disinherited Donald."

While everything should have gone swimmingly for Donald, Uncle Larry's beloved nephew found that he had no such luck.

As
it turns out, Uncle Larry had another will floating around, and Brill
didn't do anything to override the then-10-year-old doc, Donald claims.

Enter Richard Gertler, Donald's brother.

Donald claims that Brill "switched sides" and started to represent Richard, who stood to get more money from the first will.

Now, Donald has taken Brill to court in hopes of getting some of "his" money.

But there is good news for the wily siblings: Their relationship couldn't get any worse.

Another lawyer who doesn't know his butt from a hole in the ground, but likely charges $250 a hour. The arrogance by these lawyers who are so stupid.  At the first major screw-up like this, their licenses should be suspended or revoked.  Immediately.
