Don't invite the Sun-Sentinel to your next pervert party.
The Sun-Sentinel sure knows how to ruin a pervert party.

The paper had been working on a story detailing how hard it is for sex offenders to find a place to live in South Florida when it noticed that 24 registered sexual deviants were listed as living in the same building.

Last week, they asked Glen Patel -- owner of the Budget Inn near North Federal Highway and Oakland Park Boulevard -- about nearly half of his 50-room motel being occupied by sex offenders.

He had no idea.

"For the safety of my [other] guests, I can't keep them there," he told the paper.

State probation officers recommended Patel evict the gaggle of sex offenders from his building, which he did.

Since 2007, that Budget Inn -- which reportedly includes a heart-shaped jacuzzi -- had been home to at least 36 registered sex offenders, with various convictions including kiddie porn, child molestation, kidnapping, and sexual battery of a child, the paper says.

The cops say sex offenders like to live in packs and congregate together when they find a place that will let them in.

The problem -- which the paper was trying to explain before it ruined the pervert party -- was that it's really hard for sex offenders to find a place to live.

Fort Lauderdale has an ordinance that won't allow most sex offenders to live within 1,400 feet of a school, park, playground, day-care center, or school-bus stop.

It's more strict than state law, which allows them to move within 1,000 feet of aforementioned kiddie hot spots.

That leaves only 10 percent of the entire city of Fort Lauderdale as available real-estate for sexual predators, which leaves them a little short on rental opportunities, the paper says.

Now there are a couple of dozen sex offenders looking for a new spot to live, thanks to the pervert party police over at the Sentinel.
