Democratic National Committee Chairwoman and South Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz finally earned a victory against the press -- at least in the charity softball game she played last night.

After two consecutive losing games and suffering a broken leg at the hands of Capitol Hill reporters, Wasserman Schultz delivered a walk-off hit last night to win the annual charity softball game for the female members of Congress.

If other media members are looking for who to blame for the loss, it's the New York Times and Associated Press.

The AP's Dave Espo and Times' Carl Hulse -- managers of the press corps club -- decided to intentionally walk two batters with one out to put Wasserman Schultz at the plate, according to MSNBC.

After getting a meatball right down Broadway from a reporter, Wasserman Schultz ripped it to left field to drive in the winning run.

And that was it -- before 800 people at Washington's Watkins Recreation Center Park, the press let Debbie Downer take the reins and lead Congress to its first victory in the third-annual game.

The good news, however, is that proceeds from the event go to Young Survival Coalition, an organization that works with young women who have breast cancer.
