Are More Arrests to Come in the Scott Rothstein Saga?

One year in prison down, only 49 more to go!
Four more people were charged late last week for their alleged roles in the Ponzi scheme of former Fort Lauderdale lawyer and scam-man extraordinaire Scott Rothstein.

The U.S. Attorney's Office announced on Friday that Howard Kusnick, 58, of Tamarac, Stephen Caputi, 53, of Lauderhill, William Corte, 38, of Plantation, and Curtis Renie, 38, of Fort Lauderdale, were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud -- punishable by up to five years in prison.

The four are all expected to plead guilty to their charges as part of an arrangement with the FBI, which hints to even more future arrests in the Rothstein saga.

"The FBI will continue to unravel the remaining web of fraudulent schemes created by Scott Rothstein," John V. Gillies, the special agent in charge for the FBI's Miami office, said last week when the charges were announced. "We will shine a light on every aspect of this fraud. Like Rothstein, those who chose greed over integrity will also have a price to pay."

There are numerous players in the scandal, which we've chronicled over the years.

We want to hear from you: Do you think there are more arrests to come in the Scott Rothstein saga?

Start rolling you Ponzi pudd, and make sure you bring down some of the Scumbag Politicians,to jail with you!!!  Every lawyer that represents you should go down with you! AT a time like this in our society when we are all running low on patience these P u s s y' s have the nerve to steal from people who can not afford to eat. If the Judge takes it easy on this scumbag the he should be investigated as well.

Where is Rothstein???   BOP site shows he is not in custody.

YES, I was actually waiting for the Steve Caputi "turn myself in" thing to happen. What did this man think? Did he think he was in clear. Family said he was innocent, right, so innocent. He should also be brought up on charges of destroying my relationship with my family and how once he picked up my mom at some hotel when she ran of my sister's car and ended up pooping in the lobby of that hotel. He made fun of her and said, "He had to get the car cleaned, her poop was all over the front seat and she acted like it was normal". Good riddance. i will never be friendly with my family again because of Steve Caputi and he had always hated me and was brainwashed by his wife then, and also my mother. When he had his wedding at the Breakers in Palm Beach, you can see the sneer he gave me, as he passed the cam. I saw it clearly. This man needs to drop the soap a few times, but don't he is going to jail. But at least they are going forward. I was told that Steve was in the clear by family who hate me, but they lied and covered their eyes. I just know justice is coming even if he plea bargains. Be a snitch Steve Caputi and the mob will come and show you how NOT TO TALK by cutting out your ugly tongue. Poor daughter of Steve, she must be beside herself, so talented and pretty, and now what will happen to her?

When do the corrupt bankers getindicted?  Like the FBI Special Agent in Charge said, "those who chose greed over integrity will also have a price topay".  That describes the executives at the bank that enabledRothstein to run his Ponzi scheme for years. That bank saw fraudulent activity going on for years inRothstein's accounts and had a legal responsibility to report it to thegovernment.  Instead they helpedRothstein arrange his transactions to avoid scrutiny.  Most of the fraudtook place in one bank (not TD Bank).  Rothstein was even moving fundsfrom his client trust accounts to his personal accounts – obvious fraud.  But the bank executives helped cover it upbecause they were making money off of Rothstein and he was investing in thebank (and bringing the bank new clients and investors.  Rothstein was also giving huge "gifts" to bank executives and "entertaining" people at Bova Prime.  There's a trail of emails showing how bankemployees were ordered by senior officers to help Rothstein move funds aroundto avoid being detected by bank compliance. Bank employees even did many of the transactions for Rothstein.  They they KNEW he was committing fraud andHELPED him.  Everyone knew all the way to the CEO.  The few who spoke up were fired or pushed out. Most of them lied.  Funny how the Chief Compliance Officer got firedonly a few months after giving his Sgt. Schultz testimony ("I knownothing... nothing") to help the coverup.  But this post willprobably get removed because the bank's lawyers threatened the New Times. Last Sept. Pulp wrote about the bank and said one man was responsible andhe would name him the next day.  Pulp never did name him and hasn’twritten anything about it since.  Why not?  Soon the media willrealize why the bank spent millions on lawyers and a PR firm to keep the mediafrom covering their involvement.  Because they know what they did.  Wait til the bank pays huge settlements inthe pending Rothstein lawsuits and executives start getting indicted.  It’scoming.

Come on, Parkland Man.  How about those lawyers from "The Innocence Project," they're out there trying to correct legal mistakes.  Would you consider saying, "Some lawyers," or "Many Lawyers," rather than "All lawyers????"

Did you ever graduate high school? I understand that you have this irrational hatred of all lawyers, but that aside, your grammar, punctuation, and spelling are perennially atrocious. While your message is trite anyway, your "herp derp, I sound like a barely literate redneck" persona really erodes any legitimacy you have. Just some food for thought.
