Republican Party Asks for Help Spreading Propaganda on Gov. Rick Scott's Budget Signing

• What's insane are the many "conservative" policies that drive millions into poverty and have led to the richer getting much, much richer. Google "The Data & Why It's Happening" to see them.

• The people who think public employee pensions are too grand should try working for the salary earned by the majority of them, not just those that are reported in the papers.  Many, if not most, of the public employees are on food stamps as they make so little to be able to raise their families.  They work for so little due to the promise of the pension.

• No, no not IMpressed, more like DEpressed, only ones jumping up and down are big businesses and drug testing companies, cant wait to see who profits from that ridiculous law.

• Until taxes actually do go up on the wealthy, all bets are off. Austerity is another con job created by the elite pigs to hold onto their money. Nationalize the banks, send troops to shut down the federal reserve, arrest the endless number of foreign agents that have infiltrated our gov't, etc: And that is just a start.

• Look I'm recovering from Quadruple ByPass Open Heart Surgery and not able to give this my all but the governor presided over a company that was fined $1.7 billion for Medicare and Medicaid Fraud. Doesn't that mean anything?

• Virgil the pain needs to go all around.  Taxes can go up on the wealthy, but in conjunction, long term entitlements such as unemployment need to be cut back to a reasonable amount of time.  97 weeks of UEI is insane.  It should be less than a third of that number.  People aren't going to want to get jobs if we're supporting them.  Yeah, I know it's only $275 a week, but they all have jobs under the table and its total bullshit.  We see plenty of people going into the Workforce Alliance doing their paperwork so they can get their UEI check.  And a lot of them are driving really nice cars, wearing new clothes and chatting and texting on their iPhones.  this is how the Tea Party got moving--useless waste.

• I agree with you that the pension plans for public employees need to be tweaked to reflect longer life spans. However, if everyone needs to help out during fiscally difficult times, the wealthy should be at the top of the list. No more tax breaks for these fuckers, especially the treasonous whores who hire foreigners instead of Americans. And I don't want to hear about the global economy. That is code for.....Fuck the American worker.

• Warren, Are you saying that good programs should be funded even though the state does not have the money?  We elect our officials to make these choices.  I did not vote for Rick Scott.  But I admire hime for at least he's making cuts instead of kicking the can further down the road. 

• In a way, yes.  Let me explain.  I know a teacher, who is also a BTU steward. This is a woman who argues with the school board at every union meeting and also attends all the BTU demostrations.  She admits the union is there for one reason--to try and get as much for the teachers as possible.  She tells me they know thay will get little or nothing, but they revolt simply because they hate the school board.  She knows that most of her friends who aren't teachers also haven't seen a raise in 3+ years, just like her.  Despite the pleas we hear in the media from the union, she actually agrees teachers should contribute to their retirement fund.  She thinks it is insane that government workers don't contribute, almost every private sector employee does.  Also, this woman fully understands that expeditures far exceed revenues.  But she wants every penny she can get, at whatever the cost, for herself and her union bretheren.  She simply doesn't care about the future--she cares about now.  I get the feeling all she cares about is the fight and she doesn't care as much about the results. Furthermore, she's married to a firefighter.  Despite the perks she receives, she's even more amazed at his retirement package--it's based on his last 5 years annual earnings.  She tells me his plan, in a few years, is to max out his OT so his retirement earnings are substantially boosted.  This from a man who doesn't work a minute of overtime now.  But in a few years, he'll average over $120,000 just so his retirement is boosted. So, in a way, teachers are freeloaders.  They unionize and demonstrate for fiscally irresponsible benefits that the working public outside of public education can only dream about.  All the while knowing that expenditures must be adjusted to meet revenues.  That is freeloading. As for her husband, there is no doubt he's going to job the system with his "plan" for retirement.  He's a freeloader. I have no problem with fiscally conscious adjustments to previous entitlements to help balance the state's budget.  Government workers should contribute to their retirement, just like the rest of us.  Government workers shouldn't bitch and moan about raises--most of us haven't seen one in years.  And silly state programs like basing retirement on 5 years previous earnings and DROP programs should come to an end.

• Wow, that is well said.  And let us not forget just what happened at Picketts charge and Stonewalls end.  Both failed miserably.

• Rick Scott, Karl Rove, the Koch brothers, Dick Armey and others like them are Cowards. Here’s why. They bundle money in large packages and because the Supreme Court was having a bad hair day it’s almost legal. (The IRS may decide otherwise) Their three million lawyers and accountants say what they are doing is legal but so is “stick ‘em up.” if you get away with it. They run television commercials blasting Obama and fail to tell us who they are. This is the Coward’s way to pomp and prosperity in today’s America. I have never written anything that doesn’t have my name on it. I have never given money that doesn’t come from me directly. Rick Scott, my governor since I live in his state, spent well over $50 million fighting Health Care reform. Not one television commercial mentioned that the ads were purchased by Rick Scott. Not one. Yesterday Rick Scott delivered his signed Florida budget to The Villages, a town I did not previously know existed. He told us about all the good decisions he had rendered in his Line Item veto determinations. As a result 1400 Broward teachers are bye-bye and many good programs are kaput but Scott is still with us. I am baffled that we still – if ever so slightly – believe in these people. A worse crew of Pseudo-Americans would be hard to find. *** My Congressman is Allen West, a very light colonel who believes he is Stonewall Jackson or Pickett charging up the hill at Gettysburg. The army let him go because he was improperly questioning prisoners. He disagrees with their decision and casts his principles with Joyce Kauffman, a local nuisance who offers to trade ballots for bullets if she doesn’t get what she wants. I do wonder what they would offer against Mr. Abraham Lincoln, the first Republican president. • Teachers, police officers and firefighters are freeloaders?

• I'm still undecided on Rick Scott.  But a part of me thinks he is a Floridian at heart and his goal is to fix the waste in the state.  If that is his true intention, he's doing a good job. Disenfranchising freeloaders is never easy.

• And the jobs that were created were the direct result of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy, which created the real estate and construction bubble. It was a completely fraudulent economy, and now we are paying the piper. However, who are we kidding? What is Obama doing about bringing those jobs back that were sent overseas? Don't delude yourself. He is just another puppet of the Multi- Nationals.

• Impressed by what, Unowho? Don't you get it? He is not for the middle class, which apparently you are a member of, along with a majority of the population. Why do middle class conservatives continue to vote against their own interests? Why do you insist on being stooges for the elite?

• Instead for propaganda perhaps they should spread a little truth around. Let's start with the first GOP Commandment: Give tax cuts for the wealthy and the economy will get better. That's what the GOP told us back in 2001.  What happened?  We got the greatest economic collapse since the Depression in 2008. Even if we look at just 2001 through 2007, we had under the GOP the slowest economic growth since World War 2. GOP strategy is a losing strategy.  How about jobs? From 2001 through 2008 the number of net jobs created was 3 million. jobs.  That's worse than any Democrat controlled period. GOP=Epic Fail They are losers. Wake up people. Do you want to vote for losers?

• I love how he says he is redirecting money to education.  Just forgets to say he is also slashing that part of the budget as well.  But then he really is a crook.  Wonder when all those tea baggers will finally figure it out?  They are kind of slow but do love their criminals.

• Friendly words of advice to the new Pulp scribes.  You're not going to make your bones by focusing your attention on Tallahassee.  There is plenty of undiscovered corruption here in Browardtown that desperately need a light shined on it.  Just because you didn't vote for Rick Scott means that you should use this blog as your personal vendetta.  Perhaps this explains the precipitous drop in readership?
