Obama Hates Israel, According to Allen West

WestReidReport.png
Reid Reprot
Allen West seems to be in a bad mood this week. In his Weekly Wrap Up, he says that Barack Obama hates Israel and the Jewish people and means to hasten their destruction.

Jesus! I feel like a paranoiac for even typing that, but there it is in my inbox, beaming at my eyeballs in official Westian blue and white. Here's what it says, exactly:

America has a president who lacks moral courage and integrity when it comes to America's long-standing relationship with Israel... In reviewing history, I would say Sir Neville Chamberlain was naive in his negotiations with German Chancellor Adolph Hitler. However, when one examines the state of affairs in the Middle East, including the Fatah-Hamas reconciliation pact, increase of rocket/mortar attacks from Gaza, the definitive Hamas Charter statement vowing the destruction of Israel, and the Hamas condemnation of America for killing Osama bin Laden... I cannot attribute this incompetent statement to naivete, but rather to conscious, nefarious, and malicious intent.

This from a guy who doesn't know how to spell "Adolf Hitler."

So, the big problem with West is that he's constantly articulating ideas, like the one above, that from a certain perspective seem absolutely reasonable, at least as gut-level initial reactions to something, but that become ghastly when followed through to their logical conclusions. What could it possibly mean that Obama has "conscious, nefarious, and malicious intent" toward Israel except that he means to weaken that great state and hasten its destruction? Could it mean anything else?

(That's an honest question. If a reader has an alternate interpretation, I'd really like to hear. Please?)

As to the merit of West's statement, the precise meaning of Obama's speech last week on the situation in the Middle East was murky, and if West knows that the president means to pressure Israel into returning its conquered lands to the Palestinians, he should name his sources. But he probably knows no such thing. West doesn't even seem to know what President Obama said, never mind what he meant.

Sayeth West:

I was hoping that the President would clarify [his] statement at his AIPAC speech. However, the President did not rectify the unconscionable policy faux pas statement on "pre-1967" borders to resolve the Middle East peace process.

See those quotation marks around "pre-1967"? Quotation marks used in this context ought to indicate that somebody is quoting something. But that's not what's happening. Obama never once said Israel ought to withdraw to its "pre-1967" borders. He said that the division of land between Israel and a future Palestinian state would take the 1967 borders as a template and would be modified by land swaps. The words "pre-1967" never passed his lips. (In his speech, Obama also roundly decried Fatah's association with Hamas. West doesn't mention this, presumably because it would tarnish Obama's new image as the Jew Killer In Chief.)

How Obama's cautious, conservative stance on Israel is "unconscionable" is anyone's guess. It's precisely the approach advocated by every American president for a generation. The only way Obama's prescription is "unconscionable" is if a two-party solution is itself "unconscionable" -- which West firmly believes. Yet, like Obama's statements of unyielding support for Israel's security and his condemnation of Hamas, this goes unmentioned in his remarks.

But it does seem germane to the subject. Last year, West wrote: "I do not support the creation of a Palestnian state, to do so would be to create a terrorist state. There is already a state for the Arabic people residing in the region called Palestine, Jordan." If West is approaching Obama's speech from that perspective, then of course Obama's statements are "unconscionable." Any concession to Arabs would be unconscionable. Compromise with terrorists is not an option.

I would like to pose a question to any West fans who might take his perorations on Israel seriously. If West had his way in Palestine, how would the Palestinians be relocated to Jordan? What should be done with them if they don't want to relocate? When they go, should they should be sent in trains, planes, or buses?

That sounds tongue-in-cheek, but I'm not really joking. Have you answered these questions already? If so, is there some obvious solution I'm somehow missing? Can you explain how such rhetoric is in any way compatible with a national ethos that prizes self-determination, liberty, and justice? If so, I'd really like to hear it, because I'm coming up with nothing. Thanks.

Bottom line the palistinians danced at 911, celebrated in joy..........they name their streets after suicide bombers, they elected a terrorist group as their main political power (Hamas)....they have both murdered Americans in terrorist acts as well as teach their kids to hate all things Jewish, Christian and American....and our President kisses their butts and offers them hundreds of millions of our tax dollars to hate our guts............a vote for Obama is no different than voting for hate, more lies and more discord in the world.......

Any Jew that would vote for Obama is simply and factually Vichy French or Hitler sympathizing in historical comparrison....both to their faith and to their country.......a vote for Obama is simply a vote for the destruction of Israel and Brandon Thorpe is both a liar like his messiah and an Anti Christian Anti American Anti Jew piece of garbage on the hind end of humanity.

If Obama's vision of Israel retreating to the pre-1967 borders bears fruit, then we can kiss Israel goodbye over the short or long terms. The area of Israel west of the West Bank is a thin sliver of land that would be vulnerable to military attack. Thus, Israel can be potentially split in half by invading armies.I do not believe in a Palestinian State at all simply because their leadership is committed to the destruction to Israel and the West. Much of the pro-Western Palestinian community were murdered as "collaborators" in the First Intifada by the PLO front groups (1987-1990). The so called peace process is a Trojan Horse and has been since the Sinai Accords of the mid 1970s. The PLO, on the advice of the Soviets, Romania's Ceausescu, and the North Vietnamese, embarked on a policy of using the world (including the Israeli) peace movements and Left to psychologically disarm Israel for the sake of peace at any price. Also, in 1974, the PLO formulated the Phased Plan for Israel and Jordan. This strategy intended for the PLO/Fatah to take control of the so called occupied territories and then use them as launching pads to destroy Israel. We see the sad results of Oslo and successive "peace agreements", from massive anti-Semitic propaganda by the PA/PLO, linkups with Hamas, attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers, hostility towards the USA (including support for Saddam Hussein and Iran), corruption, and massive human rights violations. Rep. West is on the mark regarding his outrage towards President Obama and should be lauded for his steadfast support for a nationalist policy towards Israel.

West is once again using his drum to try and bang out support for the extreme right here as well as Israel.  Here they just want JC to come back and over there, they are just xenophobic.  Meanwhile in the real world everyone actually AGREES with the President and think West is just crazy.  There was a poll done in Israel and the majority there WANT peace and see the two state solution as the way to do it.  And that includes the Palestinians.  But West still wants to be on the wrong side of history along with the rest of the McCarthy-ites.  He will not be happy until that whole region starts into another world war, therefore justifying his OWN xenophobia. This is NOT a man that needs to be in power.  He needs to be as far away from it as possible and I would suggest prison for what he did over there in the first place.

West thinks that using words and phrases such as "lacking moral courage and integrity" and "conscious, nefarious and malicious intent" make him sound scholarly.  Whether or nor West even knows what those phrases and words mean is a separate question; what is not in question is that the headline grabbing phrases are designed for one thing, and one thing only:  to keep West in the news and to incite even more anti-Obama rhetoric.  I do not doubt that West supports Israel and its right to exist, but his ignorance of the solution to peace in the Middle East is deeper than the Marianas Trench.  All anyone need do is study a generation's worth of US policy on the issue of the 1967 borders (not truly borders, but the peace-line drawn after Israel's victory against Arab aggression in the '67 war) to learn that it has been what American Presidents since Reagan have called a starting point, what others have called a template.  All Obama did was reiterate our policy in stark terms.  Obama also included the phrase "mutually agreeable swaps."  West understands none of this, or does but doesn't feel the need to acknowledge it, because he is dead-set against the two-state solutiion that even Benjamin Netanyahu embraces.  What's missing, of course, is recognition of why there is no peace in the Middle East:  as Netanyahu put it in his speech to the joint session of Congress Tuesday, peace is dependent on acceptance by Arab states and peoples of Israel's right to exist.  When West has even a clue as to how to accomplish that, I believe he should step forward and let us all know.  But until then I believe he should just keep his mouth shut and learn how diplomacy in the world works in reality, not in the small world that West occuipies in his own mind.

Allen West is the terrorists best friend in the West.  He gives them more airtime, credence and legitimacy in the US then any other politician. He helps fuel their mainstream dissent in the East and disdain for America.Allen West does not seem to get it.Someone should have this guy's head checked out, because he seems to suffer from a traumatic bout of PTSD.Most Americans have moved on with their lives and are not raising pitchforks against every Muslim they see in the street. But not West, he has branded himself the the Modern Day Crusader who wants to put us into endless religious warfare  against an enemy whose strongest feelings toward our country and people is envy for our way of life.

Who's the idiot that wrote this article? LOL...pointing out SPELLING ERRORS to demonize! What a freaking joke! I will take Allen West's words even more seriously now as libtards such as the author of this pathetic hit piece seek to destroy Obama's critics. So thank you author for that because I was not familiar with Mr. West...

Please . . . West is a demagogue of the first order (or perhaps he just has a problem with comprehension).

Obama did not call for Israel to return to the 1967 border; he said they sould be the beginning point for negotiations -- the same thing said by George Bush and Bill Clinton. In fact, Netanyahu, in his speech to Congress, said that there would have to be land swaps.

The bottom line is that time is not on Israel's side -- better that they conclude a peace treaty sooner rather than later.

The 1967 borders are indefensible. That's why in 1967, Israel steamrolled over 3 Arab Armies in 6 days. Interesting definition of indefensible.

West is nothing more than a stooge for the extreme right Likudniks. He is a classic neo- conservative, which is to say that he is loyal to the interests of a foreign nation over those of the United States of America.

General Davis Petraeus testified before Congress last year that Israeli intransigence on the issue of the Palestinians was creating anti- American sentiment and was endangering the lives of American troops in the theater of operations. Obama's speech was a reflection of this reality and as admitted by the ADL, did not represent a radical departure from longstanding U.S. Policy.

Along with the rest of the neocons, West is a disgrace for supporting the interests of a foreign nation over those of his own country.

Look at Obama's friends.... what makes you think he likes Israel? He once said to judge him by the company he keeps..... he also talked about seeking out the Marxist radicals while in college...... Tell me his old pastor is a friend of Israel.... How is it possible that after attending a church for 20 years none of the teachings stuck. But if that doesn't convince you look at his actions... there is nothing he has done that suggests he supports any of our allies.... he has spent so much time sucking up to our enemies and slapping allies... that no one, with any sense, trusts the man.... not Arab, Jew or Christian...

Looks like West is going after the Wexler voters. The man has the " bully pulpit " at his disposal and never seems to tire of using it against this administration. I am biased but when this guy speaks, I think sedition. Fanning the flames of discontent is too mild for him.

Going back to the 1967 borders would make Israel indefensible. Israel is not the problem in the Middle East. It is the solution. There are 1 million Arab citizens of Israel, and they are the only Arabs in the region who live in democratic freedom.  The Palestinians, Hamas, the PLO are committed to the destruction of the state of Israel. On its tiny sliver of land, Israel is the only democratic ally we have in the region. We must stand with Israel. That is West's message. (And BTW,  those who have never written an article without a typo may cast the first stone.)

I also dont like to hear Neville Chamberlain bad mouthed - especially by the likes of Allen West. Lets remember Chamberlain delayed the onset of war, which was crucial to the british military as they were in no position to fight the germans at that time (ever heard of Dunkirk?)

Also Americans should remember that they did not enter the war against hitler until December 1941.  By which time Great Britain and her commonwealth allies had been fighting the Nazis for over 2 years.  So Roosevelt is in fact more guilty of appeasment than Chamberlain.

And I also despise all Americans because when Westboro Baptist Church runs around screaming God Hates Fags it is automatically representative of everyone in America whether they specifically and ardently disassociate with that group or not...a vote for Obama is a vote for Fred Phelps...

Why do so many have a comprehension or hearing problem regarding the presidents statement?  He said the 1967 borders is a STARTING POINT for negotiations, the end result would be the product of negotiating those borders with swaps.  What's so hard to understand - he's saying the same thing that the last 5 presidents have said - yet so many are willfully not listening.  It's a joke - and it's sad to see how easily some are pulled into the needless hyperbole - gullible rubes, only hearing what they want to hear.

Clowns like West are a disgrace to this country.  Why respect someone that got thrown out of the service for torture.  Nothing respectable in mr. west.

do you have anything to add about this situation that didn't happen 20 or 30 years ago? this is like saying that george mcgovern's campaign led to a 19 year voting for obama in 2008.oh, and shouldn't everyone be lauded that supports nationalism? Michele:

I agree with you completely, and I think you may have proved my point. The material and moral survival of Israel is absolutely vital to the Middle East. Allen West seems to believe it can be safeguarded by the forced relocation of almost 4,000,000 Arabs to Jordan -- even though this would turn even just and moderate Jordanians (and Egyptians, and Syrians) into permanent enemies of Israel. I think this would rather hurt Israel's long-term security interests -- and as it happens, the vast majority of Israelis agree.

You spew hateful thoughts and do not recognize that you and those with the same nasty reasoning are the foundation of the hate and bigotry that flows and continues to cause wars and terrible acts of cruelty on people including children. You should take a long look in the mirror. YOU, and not the journalist writing the article are the ignorant one, you are the moron. That would be too huge an ego bash for you.
