Macho Man Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan back in their heyday.

Macho Man Randy Savage, world-famous WWE wrestler, died at 10 a.m. today in Tampa. TMZ is reporting that the wrestler had a heart attack while driving and "lost control of his vehicle." He was only 58 years old.

In his career, Savage went up against big names like Andres the Giant and local Hulk Hogan.

From what I have read, he had a heart attack this morning and lost control of his jeep. Veered into oncoming traffic where there was a head on collision. His wife suffered minor injuries.So far alcohol was ruled out as a cause.Very sad.Wonder if the WWE will say anything about it tonight. Randy DID kind of help build them into what they are now.

I remember him well. He had a ring sidekick named Miss Elizabeth who also faced an untimely death. Given the drug related history of so many wrestlers' deaths, you have to wonder about what caused his heart attack. Savage was one of about ten wrestlers who bridged the gap between the Bruno Sammartino era of Saturday morning TV and the modern era of cable wrestling. May he rest in peace.
