He didn't ask you about using her name, he asked why you would be scouring a kid's FB page and not reporting on how the government operates. • This story has over 200 comments yet on "most viewed" "most commented" it has been changed to 76 comments. WHY? Seems to me wether you like West (no way) or don't (don't) or if you like Brandon Thorp or not, this story has received more comments than anyone else for a long while. I have been reading the NT for years, like Bob Norman, (miss him) Lisa, Mooney and Thorp very much. I don't believe for a moment any hacking was done and I hope this young lady has learned a valuable lesson. (Hope Daddy West was no harder on her than on himself) Also hope that we will continue to see stories of Thorps. Seems to me he is a good reporter and would be a shame if he is gone.

• does anyone realize that a facebook page can be hijacked and someone else could have written on it? Knowing this add the fact this girl is NOT your representative to comment on. Writing about this is simply despicable. I believe every representative has family , only the representative himself need be scrutinized and even then with FACTS not fiction. The media needs to police themselves in order to maintain any credibility, outcome ....this writer wont ever be believed again.

• Jeez! DSC,  The point is that Daddy West preaches family values and the American Way, etc. The article was about West's latest rant over Obama. At the end he went on about sacrificing the family time to make a better America. West mentions the daughter. The author checked the facebook and noted a very public, ugly remark. Only that and then suggests that West might spend a bit more time with his family. Journalists do research and spend a great deal of time searching information. I have read BK Thorp's aticles for a long while and have always found links and sources listed. More info and fact finding then most journalists and helluva more than West puts into his rants.

• I have come to the conclusion that any "reporter" that posts twitter posting or facebook quotes as news is either stupid or lazy. If we cared enough about what someone's twitter acct or facebook page had to offer we would go there on our own. Dig deeper and earn the title of reporter, there is no skill in regurgitating social media.  Don't get me wrong, this is directed at all media outlets lately, including network TV. This article just reminded me how irritating this practice has become.

There were not people marching and dying in the streets for voting rights like occurred in the civil rights era. The fact is none of the legislation would have been passed without the R's.
