What can I say? I hate rich people!
Having read Slate's recent article on Donald Trump's last presidential pseudo-candidacy, I'm now a little sad to have missed "The Donald"'s Tea Party-coordinated Tax Day event in Boca Raton. The Donald, I now understand, is a great American, and we should probably make him the leader of the free world.

Isn't it about time we had a leader who really wants to tax the rich? The current prez says he wants to increase taxes on the wealthiest Americans, but it's meaningless. Even if he's not exactly full of it, he at least knows he's tilting at windmills. Because the prez likes compromise, and taxing the wealthy is something to which the opposition will never, ever agree.

The Donald, however, loathes compromise and is more forthright than any serious presidential contender in recent memory about his desire to tax the bejesus out of the wealthy. According to Slate, in Donald's book, The America We Deserve,

...Trump proposed a one-time 14.25 percent tax on individuals and trusts "with a net worth of over $10 million." He predicted that it would raise $5.7 trillion, "which we would use to pay off the national debt" and pay for Social Security.

What's more, the Donald is unafraid to compare the United States unfavorably to other countries when the comparison is warranted. Of nationalized health care, the Donald wrote:

The Canadian plan helps Canadians live longer and healthier than Americans. There are fewer medical lawsuits, less loss of labor to sickness, and lower costs to companies paying for the medical care of their employees. If the program were in place in Massachusetts in 1999 it would have reduced administrative costs by $2.5 million. We need, as a nation, to re-examine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing.

Right on, Donald!

Despite such gloriously socialist wealth-redistributionist sentiments, the Donald was given a rock star's reception by the assembled Tea Partiers at Boca's Sanborn Square. According to the Palm Beach Post, three fans fainted dead away.
