911 Tape Released in Brandon Marshall Case

The Broward Sheriff's Office just released the 911 tape deputies received from the home of Miami Dolphins star receiver Brandon Marshall on Friday when he was allegedly stabbed in the gut by his wife at their home in Southwest Ranches.

Unfortunately, it only deepens the mystery.

Inside, hear the call, which was made from Marshall's home at 4:41 p.m. Friday.

"Please come -- it's an emergency," says a breathless and hushed female voice.

Presumably the voice is that of Marshall's wife, Mischi Nogami-Marshall, but that isn't confirmed. The BSO arrest report doesn't indicate that there were any other witnesses to the incident or that anyone else was in the house at the time.

"Come where?" the dispatcher asks. "Hello?"

"Please come; it's an emergency," the woman says again before hanging up.

When the dispatcher rang the house back after the eight-second call, the phone rang several times, and the call went unanswered.

The sheriff's office is releasing no further information.

This case is perplexing -- the key at this point is to get an understanding of what actually happened that day, if, considering Marshall's own silence and obfuscation (a fancy word for "lies"), that will be possible.

The team is investigating the incident, but former Dolphin Joe Rose, now a radio and TV broadcaster with Channel 6, has already decided what needs to happen.

In a word, nothing.

"Let me tell you how to handle it: It's too bad it happened, we need the guy in the lineup, we'll get past it, whatever the league is going to do, and then get him back in the lineup," Rose said  on Channel 6 last night. "They've given up too much for him. They need him to start and be a number-one receiver and play a lot better than he did this year, period."

Just look the other way and get him back on the football field. I don't think it's that simple, especially considering Marshall's erratic and at times violent past. Doing nothing seems like a recipe for future disaster. But I'm not saying they should release Marshall either (though his contract shows that the team could cut him now after paying only $12.5 million on his five-year, $50 million contract).

We need the full story before anything is done -- or isn't done.

Off topic, Pulp...I read in the SS Gov. Scott is trying to basically get rid of Citizens Insurance. Didn't any of his Big Time Insurance buddies tell him the big boys are not insuring houses older than 1995?

Surtain and his wife have too much class to stab Marshall. The Surtains are clients of mine and knows how to fight in a court room opposed to thugish people like the Marshall's. From what I see of the house it has too much class for the Marshall's to be throwing vase and fighting... I always felt he was going to get his. Hopefully they can learn from this and be happy in that house he wanted so badly!

"Please come -- it's an emergency," she says before hanging up. There are 5 yr olds with enough sense to give an address. These two are too immature to be in a relationship.

Ok what we do know is he was stabbed and she cut herself. Presumably, she stabbed him. There was no (physical) evidence that he attacked her. What should the team do to a victim of a crime? Come on, if the roles were reversed we'd be calling for his head. This is another Adderly situation.

They have a volitile relationship, That is their business. This stuff happens every day.

DF3 is absolutely wrong. Surprisingly, he is a Deputy Sheriff and should know better. Not only did the Marshal situation involve legal violations of a felony nature but they cost the taxpayers money and represented potential threats to the deputies who responded.

By the way, the BSO has yet another cover up situation on its hands because the true story of the incident's aftermath has not yet been told. But it will be and once again BSO will look like the gang that couldn't shoot straight. Lamberti and his corrupt staff are already trying to circle the wagons and refuse to reveal the truth of what happened. Stay tuned.

I agree 1000%. And Bubba everytime and ambulance shows up that your business. You are a busy body.

You missed the point. Unless, of course, you believe in domestic violence and think it should not be against the law. Because an ambulance arrives, does not mean violence was the reason. You present a poor analogy. If I did not understand you, please enlighten me.

Sorry to disagree, it is not "their business." It became "our" business when the 911 call went in. Our tax dollars, our domestic violence laws ignored and our police and courts tied up with this crap. It sure is our business.

Cut him (no pun intended). He was terrible last season and this isn't going to help him improve. Knowing the Dolphins, they'll be forced to eat the remaining millions on his contract.

I don't even care what happens to Mrs. Brandon Marshall (except she should get away from Mr. Brandon Marshall for both their sakes.)
