Dwyane Wade Credits Custody Decision for Recent Heat Success
While discussing the topic with Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon on yesterday afternoon's episode of Pardon the Interruption, Wade credited the end of the custody battle with for his recent on-court success.
Then he said he was very thankful for the recent judge's decision in Chicago. "This is a good time for us," he said. "It's been very hard. I just want to be a father. I just want to be Daddy. That was taken away from me for a while. That took a lot out of me. My mind was clogged up, a lot. On Friday, my mind got unclogged. I'm a happier person. I'm a happy man."
Wade finished the conversation by answering a question about what kind of pressure the team might face if it does happen to win a championship this year. He said he couldn't imagine the target on the team's collective back getting any bigger. He said the pressure is much, much higher now than when the team won the championship a few years ago.
"It's not even close," he said.
