Sheri Carter, Escort Allegedly Shot by Jimmy Dac Ho, Dies in Hospital

Boynton Beach police have announced that Sheri Carter, 29, the woman working as an escort who was allegedly shot in the neck and abdomen by FAU police officer Jimmy Dac Ho, died this morning around 8:35 a.m. Ho has been charged with murder.

Carter was being treated at Delray Medical Center and had been paralyzed from the waist down from trauma to the spine related to the gunshot wound.

Ho attempted to kill himself in Palm Beach County Jail early yesterday and was transported in serious condition to Wellington Regional Medical Center.

Carter worked out of her home at the Marina Village complex in Boynton Beach using the name "Stephanie." She posted frequent ads to Backpage.com.

There are so so many good & decent people in this world, and we lost one, when Sheri passed.This man is a monster. He is the type of person who gives all of our good police officers a badname. But we all know better, he actually left this woman for dead. She was a beautiful personinside & out, just by seeing all the articles written by her friends. I am a childhood friend of Sheri and she deserved more for her life. She was a joy to be around and I have nothing but great memories of the times we shared. I wish she chose a different path than this, but she is in Heaven now and will be truly missed. The man that did this deserves life in jail. The death snetence for him would give him a break, let him suffer and rot away in jail and die there. My condolences to the family.
