SoFla Couple Needs Your Help Getting Married

Gina and James need your help.

​Nope, nothing political this time. More like a popularity contest, starring a beautiful young South Florida couple.

Gina Marchando needs your help with her dream wedding. It's not so much a group affair -- the $50k shindig would be an elaborate, upscale ceremony in Key West and not open to the public -- but she's hoping your South Florida pride will still inspire you to help her and her fiancé, James, in a dream wedding contest.

A destination wedding planning company, We've Got the Keys, is holding a contest to give away a wedding getaway to be held on November 11. More than 1,500 couples entered, but now it's down to the final 11. And only one couple hails from South Florida.
Gina and James need people to vote for their photo on the contest Facebook page. Now here comes the pandering: "We are ecstatic to be the sole Florida representatives in the final 11," Gina says. "But we are getting slammed by some of the other couples, including ones from New Jersey and Ohio. Now I know SoFla has more spirit than Jersey and Ohio combined."

Gina says she and James are "a very fun-loving couple who not only work extremely hard but also donate much of our time to other South Floridians (including the four-legged ones!) who are less fortunate."

Gina, a practicing psychotherapist specializing in treating survivors of childhood abuse and PTSD, is finishing her post-graduate degree in family therapy. James owns his own business and also works with Pets in Distress, rescuing neglected animals.
