Allen West On Keith Olbermann: Vengeance Is His

I'm digging up what one source called "game changer" in the continuing Scott Rothstein saga today, so in the meantime I'll give you the Reader's Digest version of this weekend's Allen West speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington on Saturday.

West hit a lot of topics but what came across most of all is that the critics are getting to him.

"And he got fired for it!"
He brought up the "vile onslaught" of criticism of him toward the beginning of the speech. He said "attacks from the liberal left" that the right wing is racist are proven wrong by the fact that they invited him to be keynote speaker at the CPAC.

See, the GOP has black friends -- and they even invite them to perform at their parties.

West said he had withstood the "horrific politics of character assassination" and the "politics of ugliness" coming from the left. Makes you almost pine for the softball, issue-oriented political gamesmanship of Karl Rove and Lee Atwater.

He brought up the Outlaws motorcycle gang stuff, decried that his friends had been attacked "such as a very dear friend of mine, South Florida radio talk show host Joyce Kaufman."

But there was one moment where there was real emotion -- when he talked about former MSNBC pundit Keith Olbermann. West said he'd been called "the worst person in the world five or six times and he got fired for it."

He said he got the strength to overcome the evil Olbermann and others (including the vile Cook Report and Politico) from God.

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn," he quoted. "This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord."

Here's a link to a video of that segment of the speech. Oh wait, my mistake, that was Jules quoting from Ezekial in Pulp Fiction. Inside is the West video.
