This is going to be bad for brunch gossip on Sunday.
John Wash, president of operations for the International Polo Club in Wellington, was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly throwing wine in his wife's face.

Wash, 50,  "was being very uncooperative and refusing to talk" when Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies responded to his wife's complaint at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a sheriff's report on the incident.

He was charged with battery, booked into jail, and released on his own recognizance Thursday afternoon.

Wash's arrest comes just as polo season is kicking off behind the wealthy green hedges in Wellington. John Goodman, the founder of the polo club, is not playing this season, as he faces charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide for a car crash that killed 23-year-old Scott Wilson last winter
