Well, I guess we know where Broward County Commissioner Stacy Ritter was on Black Friday: in a line with 500 people at Kohl's at 3 in the morning.

On her Facebook page seen above, Ritter wrote of standing in line at the sales-mad store. Palm Beach County Tax Collector Anne Gannon, who served in the Florida House with Ritter in the early double oughts, chimed in that there was nothing worth standing in line with 500 people. Then former School Board member and current shady political operative Marty Rubinstein made a crack at your friendly neighborhood blogmeister that gave Ritter a chuckle. Ah, the holiday spirit -- it's infectious!

Did LeBron James intentionally shoulder knock Spoelstra? At this point, who cares? There's no respect there. The team, wrongly or rightly, has clearly quit on Spoelstra. Saw this one coming from a mile away. When Phil Jackson made his remarks about replacing Spoelstra, did you hear the big three come to the coach's defense in any serious way? No. Listen, it's only a matter of time before the Miami Heat gets a new coach, and the longer that takes, the deeper this hole becomes. The question is whether it will be Pat Riley or if he'll bring in someone else. Riles needs to step up for his swan song. This is his creation; he needs to take responsibility for it. In the meantime, time's a wasting.

@ Virgil Spot on. Even the wildcat worked today for the fins. They have averaged under 2 yards a play in the wildcat until today.
Don't want to be a buzz crush here, but the Fins just be beat one of the worst Defenses against the run today. Having said that, I am still happy they looked better today, Henne included. Even though I still think they are a class below the Pats and Jets, I hope they prove me wrong and pull off a miracle on the road. I would love to see them at least beat the Jets and Rex Reed at home.

This experiment was ill-conceived from the start from both personnel and chemistry perspectives, and the team's struggles should come as no surprise. The biggest problem this team faces is that Lebron and Wade are essentially the same player. Both need to dominate the ball to be effective offensively. Their games are predicated on excessive dribbling on the perimeter to set themselves up for drives to the basket and launching long jumpshots, at which neither is particularly adept. Their games in no way compliment each other aside from on the fast break, as neither player is very effective playing off the ball. This is a problem given that the game is played with only one ball. It's no coincidence that these two often play better when the other is on the bench. Additionally, Lebron and Wade's need to have the ball in their hands at all times severely negates the role of the PG -- and Carlos Arroyo is a true PG. You might recall he masterfully led Puerto Rico to a complete demolition of the "Dream Team" in the 2004 Olympics, which included both Lebron and Wade. Now Arroyo is forced to play off the ball and shoot jumpshots, which is not his game. This Heat team will not do well with a true PG. They need an unconventional PG who plays without the ball in his hands and instead spots up for open shots on the perimeter, such as the Bulls employed in John Paxson, BJ Armstrong, and Steve Kerr. In addition to Lebron and Wade's redundancy and incompatibility, the Heat's other major deficiency is the lack of any physical post presence. Bosh is a talented PF, but he is a finesse player and not a guy who excels at doing the dirty work down low that is necessary for any team to succeed. It's true that the Heat are missing Mike Miller on the perimeter and Udonis Haslem in the post, but even with them in the lineup this team is poorly constructed to compete against elite teams with great balance and chemistry, such as the Lakers, Celtics, Magic, Thunder, Spurs, etc. The final issue with the Heat is that of leadership given the massive egos on the team with two top dogs in Lebron and Wade, and to a lesser extent Bosh. Lebron is the better player from a talent standpoint, but he lacks killer instinct and in the face of adversity, his immaturity is clearly evident. When things go wrong, he blames everybody but himself, and he will through his coach under the bus without hesitation. Wade is a better leader IMO, but I don't know how his ego will accept being the second best player on the team. It will be interesting to see how the team evolves as the season progresses. The Heat will certainly improve and win more games at some point, but IMO this team will never win a championship without a different approach to personnel, as well as to Lebron and Wade's offensive approach to the game.

I know I'm not supposed to laugh at an obit but damn that was funny. Thanks BTAN you've been missed. You have to have a strong personality to coach greatness. Spo doesn't have that personality. Think of the great coaches in all sports. How many would have been disrespected like that? Tony Dungy who is famous for being kind never had anything like that happen to him. Why? Respect. If your star doesn't respect the coach nobody on the team will. Its human nature. The player/coach dynamic is not unlike a step-parent/child relationship. The coach needs to be likable but not try to be the kid's friend. There has to be respect. Also the coach has to push the player to get the most out of them.

Needless to say the team has been a major disappointment. I said it from the begining. Riley needs to come back and coach! This team is so not was I envisioned. I thought we would steam roll over all the other teams. Oh well, all we have now is hope and hype.

To Mr. Rubinstein: If there is fear of the "Pulp", then there is a reason to be fearful. We'll see who gets the last laugh as we see your friends(or you) do the perp walk or their mug shots.
Also, Bosh may have been overrated and overhyped. He can't pay with his back to the basket, which makes him a 4 or maybe even a 3. Couple that with Wade, who is a 2, and Lebron who is a 2 or 3, and you see where the holes are on this team, namely at the 1, 4 and 5 positions. The Big three have very similar skill sets which creates a " too many chefs in the kitchen" problem. They need a true 1 (Arroyo is not that), a true 4 (Bosh is barely a 4, more like a 3) and a true 5. (They have no true 5, which admittedly is difficult to find) Personally, I would turn the offense completely over to Lebron, making him the first option every trip down the court, and force the other two to blend in and compliment Lebron. Give the offense entirely to Lebron. He needs those 40-50 point games.

Pulp: I don't care if the Heat get Riley, Red Auerbach and John Wooden to coach. They simply do not have the talent to match up with the best teams in the league. They still do not have a true point guard and have a very small front court. I think Dwayne Wade has been exposed this season as someone who has a difficult time playing within the team concept. When they won the title, Wade was benefitting from the double teams on Shaq down low, and he went off for sure. However, he has been exposed as an average to below average shooter. His talent lies in his physical moves to the hoop, but without a talented big man to create space down low, he is a limited player. I see no way possible for the Heat to match up this season with the Celtics and Lakers. Both teams have more "overall" talent. I'm sure the Heat will bounce back and play much better, but they still have enormous personnel holes to fill.

Pat Riley has been warming up for a couple weeks. The BIG 3 aren't gelling, and it doesn't seem Spoelstra can make them click.
