• It's not true that I don't like Helen Ferre; yes I've criticized her in the past, but I like her fine. And you're right, the point of the post pertains to the candidates.

• First of all, this 'woman' is not French, she is Hispanic. Yes she is related to that idiot Maurice Ferre - that is her father in law; she told him not to run as an FYI. And this 'woman' has been the host of this program for 10 years, and is extremely well known in the political arena. We all know that Norman doesn't like Helen Ferre, but I don't think that is the point of this article. The focus should be the candidates.

• Back to Glenn Beck -- The cover story in the magazine section of the Sunday Times was about him, and it was surprisingly bland. They've been tougher on Obama. Lots of background (guy doesn't seem to have amounted to much until recently)and some discreet passages about money, but nothing to send Murdoch's BP soaring. There were polite allusions to Beck's anhistoricity, but not even quotes from persons identified as detractors on the lines of "He makes stuff up!" WTF?

• @jad 3:19am Great post! We the People should take out a page in the SS amd put your words there. Florida is a small southern town with one gas station. Report a problem in Broward and instead of getting help you are met with retaliation from every agency and at every level. The person that is getting harassed is then treated to a never ending trail of entrapment techniques all paid for by the tax payers. They need to shut it down, empty it out and start from scratch here. They are just riding us out until after the election when it will be a whole new ball game. I know this for a fact as I know someone who works with him everyday, an on air personality. Re: Alex Jones. I would have to go down the rabbit hole to explain his role as a disinformation agent. That is not to say that what he represents is not true; frightenly, 80% of it is true. However, the best disinformation agents disseminate 80% of the truth; that is how they attract a following. It is that 20% that is false, either intentionally or by ommision that makes him so good at what he does. He is what is considered in the industry as "controlled opposition". Usan @ http://static.cbslocal.com/station/wfor/files/arrestwass.pdf If the State Attorney is actually trying to do something about the rampant corruption, rather than pulling the wool over the eyes of the citizenry, the State Attorney should act post haste to make changes so that charges will stick. It should be taken care of immediately, by the proper lawful correction that needs to be made, or else all will be for naught. Sec. 27.181(2), F.S., is the Florida Law that grants an allowance to an Assistant State Attorney to prepare and file a felony Information. However, the accusatory instrument, signed by Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey R. Levenson is not a felony Information and a Circuit Court Judge (that is Jeffrey R. Levenson�s job title) is not an Assistant State Attorney. Also, the individual placed under oath is not an Assistant State Attorney, but is an investigator with the Office of the State Attorney, whose function is limited by the State governing his job description. An investigator with the State Attorney is not and does not have the same power and authority as an investigator with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (�FDLE�). Sec. 27.255, F.S., can not and does not equally compare to sec. 943.04, F.S.. Sec. 27.255(1), F.S., describes an investigator as being under the direction and control of the State Attorney employing the investigator. This investigator would hold �full powers of arrest, in accordance with the laws of this state,� which could be done under the investigator�s own Probable Cause Affidavit. (Also, sec. 27.251, F.S., would limit an investigator with the State Attorney to only have the power of arrest if he or she were employed as a Law Enforcement Officer to be a �Special Organized Crime Investigator� and if the arrest involved the business of the special task force to which the investigator is assigned by the State Attorney.) Under sec. 27.255(1), F.S., the investigator would have �full authority to serve any arrest warrant, search warrant, capias, or court order issued by any court or judge within such judicial circuit in a criminal case, or in connection with a criminal investigation, when the same is directed to him or her.� There is no provision that the investigator may apply for the Arrest Warrant. This application, for the issuance of an Arrest Warrant, does not exist for an investigator employed by a State Attorney. The law will not allow a person to magnify that which is already described & enumerated. If the Florida Legislature would have meant for an investigator (employed by the State Attorney) to have the sole power to apply (on-his-own or on-her-own) for an Arrest Warrant, this would have been written into the law, as such extraordinary power was written into the law governing investigators with the FDLE. Sec. 943.04(2)(a), F.S., gives a lot of power to an investigator with the FDLE, which power includes the �authority to bear arms, make arrests and apply for, serve and execute search warrants, arrest warrants, capias, and other process of the court.� However, even when investigating crimes, sec. 943.04(3), F.S., is restrictive in directing that the FDLE �refer the evidence of such crime to the official authorized to conduct the prosecution.� A person authorized to prosecute �criminal investigative information� (provided by reports of investigators) would not be a Judge. As a matter of fact, the rules on criminal procedure identify a prosecutor, at Rule 3.025, to be the State Attorney (thereby excluding a Judge from such an identity -- as if that even needed to be discussed). In each and every one of those counts, of Count I, Count II, Count III, & Count IV, of that Warrant to Arrest Stephanie Kraft, the declaration is made that the person preparing and bringing the instrument is �by and through his undersigned Assistant State Attorney.� Yet, there is no identity of any Assistant State Attorney in any of these documents. And, as a matter of fact, there is no mention of the State Attorney, other than his name given for an allowance to have the charges be made �by and through his undersigned Assistant State Attorney,� who is unnamed. In the same way that the theatrics of the State Attorney�s Office & a Circuit Court of Broward County, surrounding the arrest of Diana Wasserman-Rubin, stole the thunder of the Statewide Grand Jury, this type of repeated legal maneuvering basically takes away any right that the Statewide Grand Jury would have to investigate the crimes of Stephanie Kraft. The operation of the Statewide Grand Jury is very similar (although there are some exceptions) to that of a County Grand Jury, which can be understood by the words of sec. 905.34, F.S., which section contains the instruction, in the last statement, that �The powers and duties of, and law applicable to, county grand juries shall apply to a statewide grand jury except when such powers, duties, and law are inconsistent with the provisions of ss. 905.31-905.40.� Sec. 905.16, F.S. is very clear, and reads in the entirety as �The grand jury shall inquire into every offense triable within the county for which any person has been held to answer, IF AN INDICTMENT HAS NOT BEEN FOUND OR AN INFORMATION OR AFFIDAVIT FILED FOR THE OFFENSE, and all other indictable offenses triable within the county that are presented to it by the state attorney or her or his designated assistant or otherwise come to its knowledge.� The assistant addressed would (not be an investigator, but a person described under sec. 905.36, F.S., to) be an Assistant State Attorney (or other member of the Florida bar, per sec. 905.17(1), F.S., & sec. 27.18, F.S., if for the Grand Jury, but would not be applicable to any of the proceedings of the Statewide Grand Jury). An investigator would not be directing a Grand Jury or a Statewide Grand Jury. In addition, it is plain to see that once an �AFFIDAVIT� (like that of investigator Pazienza�s or Roubicek�s in the Wasserman-Rubin affair) is filed, the Statewide Grand Jury loses all of its right to make (or continue to make) any inquiry. In the Affidavit to Arrest, Angelo Pazienza, claims, under oath, to be �an investigator for the Broward County State Attorney�s Office,� who �assisted in the investigation concerning allegations� against Stephanie and Mitch Kraft in their dealings with Bruce and Shawn Chait. Moreover, Angelo Pazienza signed above the description of �Affiant Investigator Angelo Pazienza State Attorney�s Office Seventeenth Judicial Circuit.� This person is an investigator under Michael Satz (NOT an Assistant State Attorney), and what he has done is file a legal document in the Circuit Court that basically eviscerates any investigation of the offenses, by the Statewide Grand Jury. THIS SMELLS!!! This should be corrected -- NOW. So, if State Attorney Michael Satz is serious about his investigation, the law should be followed so that whatever occurs at this level is not overturned. That is, if this State Attorney is really trying to finally fight the rampant corruption that he has let happen for 30 years, under his watch.

From what has been portrayed by the COURT & A STATE ATTORNEY EMPLOYEE, it was made to appear that the schemes & trickery played with the taxpayers� dollars would be fully revealed within the criminal justice system, with a proper & legitimate law proceeding, where the evil-doers would have no alternative but to go to prison. Or, are appearances deceiving? Is the story, about the arrest of the thieving, conniving couple for misuse of authority & criminal acts, one that the State Attorney and his minions want the populace to swallow because the satz-on-his-hands while Rome burns prosecutor knows that he can no longer get any of the taxpayers to bend over & take the shaft??????? At 7:25 PM, Monday, Gefilte Fish said �Happy? Yes! Excited? No! I will wait for the outcome of the case. This could all be a dog and pony show. Scenario 1) Satz and his cronies boondoggle the case and it gets thrown out. Satz, get reelected and three years later it is quietly dismissed. Scenario 2) Satz gets his best prosecutor on the case and they fight a vicious fight as if they were prosecuting a minority for b.s. charges.......wtf, with the $9,000 bail? At 7:42 PM, Monday, noname said �If only Satz had not been complicit to corruption for most of his professional career, this could have been averted.� At 11:59 AM, Tuesday, Lynn Parkinson said �I think the broward county state's attorney's office should be under arrest for coruption and conspriacy, they are the most corrupt office in broward. Illegail and malicious charges filed against victims of crime, bribes, making deals to get charges to stick.� At 2:15 PM, Tuesday, Avenger said �The corruption at Broward County Schools is not limited to some of its board members, it goes all the way to its administrators, who have created and atmosphere of fear and intimidation in order for them to function with impunity. This type of corruption goes back many years -- bids written by vendors awarding themselves fat contracts for non-functional equipment (i.e. BECON famous $1.5 million video server in 2001) and subsequent cover-up by Notter via CELT to overpriced ITFS equipment/towers are just some of the examples of the outrageous practices routinely witnessed by school board employees, and condoned by top administrators who proceeded to dismiss these reports under the umbrella of �disgruntled Employees�. Go FBI, go! I believe that Avenger�s direction to the FBI is more correct than any one of us who would be thinking that Michael Satz is really going to do something about the corruption in broward-town. It is my belief that the only reason that we, the people, get to see any action taken by the State Attorney is because the State Attorney knows that we want to see these criminals arrested and he knows that not too many will question what has been desired for so long and is being handed to us on a silver platter. My $.02 is that this is all show. My feelings are that it is to shut down the investigation by the Statewide Grand Jury and to make the feds think that the State Attorney actually wants to work with them to halt the corruption. The law disproves this. The action taken by Michael Satz will not measure into a conviction that will stick. As a matter of fact, it might not even make it into court. Just like the 2 lawyers that were just arrested, Michael Satz also knows how to use the law to his advantage or the advantage of his puppet masters or his fellow-traveling elitists. The following post will help explain how the law is being abused by Michael Satz. It will also show that the State Court system is being manipulated. This usually occurs in third world nations and in dictatorships. Usually, this type of activity (of other nations & confederations) is exposed in the press in the United States for exactly what it is. Nevertheless, the compliant-press won�t touch it here, if it is about how our own government (of, by, & for the people) especially treats those who are in office & part of the elite and how they give special favors to their corrupt, criminal companions. Thank you Bob Norman for all of your work & effort in exposing these b*st*rds. Thank you for giving the opportunity for others to also expose the reality of the corruption, so that a change does manifest through a real charge brought against those who have taken advantage & broken the laws for decades.

• Amendment 4 will prevent developers from approaching the commishes relative to initial approval of a project. However, as the Chaits and Kraft have demonstrated, there will always be a financial angle for developers and politicians to use and abuse power to obtain financial incentives in exchange for kickbacks. I am in favor of amendment 4, but I am not naive enough to think that decelopers and politicians aren't already scheming on other ways to minimize it's impact, if passed. What we really need are harsher public corruption penalties.

• As I think I understand it, Amendment 4 only concerns changes in land use. It doesn't mean homes can't be built in residential areas. It doesn't mean home remodeling can't take place or even that condos can't be built on land zoned for multi family dwellings. It just means that some builder can't buy up 3 or 4 homes along the New River, pay off a couple of commissioners and throw up some god awful 40 story condo that shadows a neighborhood for blocks around. It would just stop green areas from being turned into business parks or any random corner being turned into a strip mall without the consent of the people being affected. I think I'm OK with that.

The Chamber started these "scorched earth" policies and now they are crying because they are on the other end, fighting for their survival. So, how does it feel now?

• @Pulp, I generally agree with you on most issues, but not in this case. One, Amendment 4 is bad for Broward and Florida. Its that simple. As corrupt as our local politicians are proving to be, Amendment 4 is an irrational response to the problem. Two, PLEASE don't fall for professional (losing) candidate Chris Chiari's rhetoric. He is a less orange Charlie Crist, saying WHATEVER is necessary to get elected to the race of the day, whether it be congressional district 91, move to Davie to run for seat 98, commission district 4 (he considered a run at gunzberger before tubby jumped in), etc. Chiari is not up to the task, and to simply accept him as the lesser of three evils is disingenuous.
