Independent Senate hopeful Charlie Crist was scheduled to make an appearance at Hollywood's Holocaust Documentation and Education Center today but canceled yesterday. His campaign has apparently rescheduled the event multiple times.

Meanwhile, Crist is in Deerfield Beach this morning to accept the endorsement of Robert Kennedy Jr., son of late presidential candidate Bobby Kennedy and a New York-based environmental advocate.

That should be wrapping up before noon, when the Holocaust Center appearance was scheduled to take place. Instead, Crist's schedule lists a noon phone call with his chief of staff, Shane Strum.

Crist's press secretary, Sterling Ivey, says the phone call is just routine business. "Nothing preempted the event... there's no emergency in the state right now. Any time the governor is not in Tallahassee, he'll have a phone meeting with Shane to go over state business and matters of the day."

Besides Kennedy's endorsement, there was this tweet yesterday from the @Schwarzenegger:

I endorse Gov @charliecristfl for Senate. Great leader, works with both parties, and our country needs someone like him in DC right now.

Crist's campaign reportedly rescheduled the Holocaust Center appearance a few times before canceling -- we're calling for details. Not earthshaking news, this, but an interesting display of how hard-hitting endorsements stack up against the local Jewish vote in the month leading up to what's sure to be a contentious three-way election.
