Typically, country clubs don't need sophisticated security systems -- mainly because smash-and-grab thieves don't have the money to cultivate golf as a hobby, meaning there's nothing in the clubhouse worth stealing. Usually, the only theft on a golf course is perpetrated by Ponzi schemers who go there to lure investors, as Bernard Madoff did.
So it's a mystery why anyone would burglarize and burn the Palm-Aire Country Club in Pompano Beach. Given the disparities of wealth in Pompano, is it possible that we've got a modern-day Robin Hood, looking to steal from the rich and give to the poor (i.e., himself)?
