Boynton CRA Director Gets the Heave-Ho

• People of Boynton Beach need to wake up now! Not only is the CRA violating policies and unethical so is the City. A through outside investigation conducted on all levels of employees must be undertaken before any of this will stop. Our tax money is being mishandled. Investigate now!

• Hey Francis get off my wife. Many heads goin' to be rolling. State Attorney has gunsights on all of Boynton players - like the commish who was emailing pre-meeting agreements- apologized for breach and what did he learn (no not that he violated laws) he said something to effect - now Iknow not to use email for these discussions.

• You have muddied up your own point by trying to imply Bright's point of view and attempt to foreshadow the PB State Attny's report. Bright's point of view was never made public and (most of) the commission wanted her out before the "real" investigation was over because of BAD PRESS. There have been no surprises in this little soap opera, and we probably won't be surprised that the PB SA office comes back with nothing. It's unfortunate that there is no un-biased reporting & these sensation pieces are all we have.

• Mr. Francis: The state cannot compel anyone to take a plea. A person charged may plea or go to trial. For your information, even at a plea, a defendant can at times, plea "no contest" so there would still be no admission. Ultimately, the state can never compel anyone to talk. The quote in the article is in error. Compelling an accused to talk is very common in the mid east, especially where there is a religious Judge presiding, and there, silence is considered an admission. This is an ancient form of judgment, and here in the United States, the criminal justice system is more rationale and based on principals of fairness. We devised this system because our founders believed a person should not be judged in a court of popular opinion, but according to the law and rules of evidence.

• Yes, I'm familiar with criminal defendants' right to take the 5th. I'm referring to a plea bargain.

• It is important to understand a person's rights when they are accused of wrongdoing. For instance, this article states that "She wasn't obligated to answer questions from the city's investigators; a state prosecutor has more tools to compel her to talk." This is wrong. The government cannot compel you to talk. This is called the Constitutional Right to Silence. Ever hear of it? The problem is, no one can tell us what the CRA director did to cause her to loose her job. Pelting flimsy and unsubstantiated accusations at someone with the hope they will stick is all I see.

• Cherof's firm wrote the CRA Procurement Policy in 2002 when he was the CRA atorney exempts any type of promotions, marketing and entertainmnet. Again he reviews it in 2009 with Mayor, Ross and Hay, no changes. All attended those special events as VIPs for years. the district attorney was suspect of Cherof once again being approved as CRA attorney in 2007 without any procurement vetting. Cherof clips the CRA for a $150,000 a year and does not include include the $750,000 to the city for one day a week's work. Doubledipped conflict of interest.

• The Boards decision was based on a sleezy and expensive report done by a dude who tried to pick up Bright at Cafe Max one night last Feburary. Nothing in that report points to wrong doing on Bright's part. Do you really expect that the State's Attorney to give it any credence? Jose wants Lisa in jail because of many personal reasons, He is a vengeful politician, wait and see.

• OK, lots of Lisa Bright believers. Here's my point: Whatever the motives of Rodriguez, it doesn't change the fact that Bright willfully compromised her integrity by dealing with Ferrer through the CRA. If this scandal occurred because Rodriguez was gunning for Bright, then she should have done a better job not giving him material.

• Rodriguez was quoted on the campaign trail as saying, "Bright will be the first to go because she supported Weiland".

• Bright comitted NO crime. The CRA Board approved every concert and the checks were signed by the CRA Chair. Everyone knew Ferrer, it's no secret he runs Sunset and lives in Delray. PLUS the CRA raised $160,000 in donations to offset the cost of the concerts. Please check your facts and don't just parrot the Post. You can break the real story about City Corruption and scoop the POST if you've got the nerve.

• Who writes this stuff - have you done any of your own homework? Rodriguez had his henchmen going through their districts and threatening Ross and Orlove's future campaign. Rodriguez, who's first complaint about Bright was that she said his marriage was a political sham to get ellected, was just handed divorce papers. You want more - just wait!
