Fighting Allen West With...Allen West?

"Liberals want soldiers to die," blares the pop-up quote from Allen West. At first blush, the ad looks like it's touting West's congressional campaign.

But read a little closer, and you'll see it's intended to attack him. Read the fine print, and you'll discover the ad is paid for by the Florida Democratic Party.

Even stranger, the ad is posing as a petition drive. The petition asks West to apologize for, well, being himself. It's all part of a not-so-subtle tactic to win votes for Ron Klein, West's Democratic opponent.

Now, you may have noticed the Florida Dems are having a a bad week, thanks to the furor over another ad, which revealed West's Social Security number. This latest ad is not much better.

First, the "liberals want soldiers to die" statement is not a direct quote from West. It's a generous paraphrase of a comment he made on Blog Talk Radio, saying, "I prevented U.S. soldiers from losing their lives, which meant that they would not be able to be put in their [liberal] newspapers and talk about how terrible war is."

Call me picky, but with all the crazy things West's said in the past few months, there's truly no need to embellish or paraphrase.

Second, who is this ad targeting? West's supporters will read it and salute. Swing voters -- if there are any in a race between two polar opposites -- may not catch the fine print and just assume the ad is pro-West. If there's anyone out there-- red, blue, or purple-- who has not yet discovered West's virulent brand of self-aggrandizement, this might clue them in. But it might also leave them very, very confused.

In one of Allen West�s commercials he states that the military taught him that character is developed by the decisions �you make when nobody is looking�. What does it say about West�s �character� when the IRS has to sue him for back taxes (I�m sure his decision not to pay was made when �nobody is looking�)��when credit card companies have to put leins on his salary for past due credit bills (again, the decision not to pay was made when �nobody is looking�). This is exactly the type of irresponsible behavior he rails against in his stump speeches. It�s very sad for this great country when right wing nutcases like West believe that governing is nothing more than stringing together sound bites��.that the lessons taught when in military service can be ignored in private life��and who encourages citizens to protect themselves from �a tyrannical government� (the same government that West took a vow protect and serve when he was in the military and that paid his salary when he was in the service). Thank goodness we will not hear anymore from West after November 2nd.

Another article in a mainstream publication in England that covers how our "friends" in the Israel government are still asking for the release of the worst spy in American history, the one that has caused this nation the most harm. A spy that was acting in behalf of Israel. I wonder if their stooge, Allen West is aware of this story? Obama walked out in a huff from his meeting with the Israeli prime minister, which signaled to Turkey and the other Jihadi terrorists that it was OK to push Israel around. The result was the terror flotila which was the worst existential threat to Israel since the Yom Kippur war. Now Obama is signalling complacency on terror attacks, by saying "US can absorb another terror attack", which will be another signal to the terrorists that the government is not so concerned about them (such attacks). Beth M, There is no bigger embarrassment of race than that of Allen west to African American voters this year. You are disgusting in your bigotry, as is West. West you are a sell out.
Beth: Who gives a crap if you are Jewish? Why would that be relevant? Are we to assume that because you are Jewish and don't endorse Klein, then there must be something wrong with him? Are we to believe that Jews are monolithic? Perhaps you are one of those rabid neo-conservatives who is attracted to West's maniacal anti-Islam ramblings. I assume that part about West and a budget is a joke, because the man apparently couldn't manage his own finances. West is finished. His crazy quotient is too high even for the Repukelican party.
Patriot Says: September 22nd, 2010 at 1:21 pm While serving in Taji, Iraq, on August 20, 2003, as commander of the 2d Battalion, 20th Field Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel West was in charge of an interrogation of a civilian Iraqi police officer who was suspected of having pertinent information regarding attacks on American soldiers in the area. Interrogators had learned that the detainee had information about a planned ambush. When the interrogators were unable to extract the needed important information for some time, LTC West was asked to come try to obtain the important information. As the detainee continued to hold back the information, LTC West fired his pistol past the detainee�s head into a clearing barrel, frightening (but not physically harming) the detainee and getting him to finally give the information. LTC West and his men were able to use the information and thwart several planned attacks on his men. LTC West, who at the time was just short of having 20 years of service, was charged with violating articles 128 (assault) and 134 (general article) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. West was processed through an Article 32 hearing in November 2003, where he admitted wrongdoing, was fined $5,000 over two months for misconduct and assault. Ron Klein will go the way of Robert Wexler, all fluff and no substance...a Jewish embarrassment and I am Jewish. MY VOTE: ALLEN WEST...FOR SELF-DISCIPLINE AND CREATING AN ANNUAL BUDGET. Ron is a baby and a prince. If he could make a living he'd still be practicing law in Boca or Shaker Heights or wherever he could be an ambulance chaser.
