Get a load of this. Congressional candidate Allen West has released a four-minute video documentary that makes his brutal interrogation of an Iraqi detainee look like a self-less, courageous act that cost a good soldier his career.
For the propaganda-free account of the same incident, check out this Juice post from March. After the jump, let's try to steer the former lieutenant colonel back toward the path of truth.
West and his U.S. Army battalion were stationed north of Baghdad in August 2003. Being an invader that's occupying a nation following a war, it's safe to say that West and his soldiers were facing the constant threat of violence.
So for the soldiers to catch wind of an ambush by Iraqi insurgents must have been a fairly common occurrence. The difference with this particular rumor is that the ambush was specifically targeting Lt. Col. Allen West.
It's disingenuous, then, for West to say that the reason he intervened in the interrogation of an Iraqi policeman was for the safety of his men. Those men are always in danger. The only soldier who was in more danger if this rumor were true was West.
Which is exactly the reason West should not have been involved in the interrogation. Since his life was at stake, he would seem to have a hard time resisting the urge to go all Jack Bauer on the detainee -- and that's exactly what he did.
According to an investigation and by West's own admission, he walked into an interrogation room and placed a gun in his lap. If the Iraqi detainee didn't talk, West told him, then West would have to kill him. The detainee insisted he knew nothing about a plot against West. The lieutenant then allowed his soldiers to beat the man. The detainee was then dragged outside, supposedly for his execution. But West fired over the detainee's head. At that point, the detainee gave West information that may or may not have been helpful -- the detainee told the New York Times he made something up just to save his life. In that same article, West admits he may have been wrong about there being an assassination plot.
Evidently, he's changed his mind since, and now West is positive that his willingness to get tough with the detainee saved the lives of his soldiers. "The Iraqi prisoner talked," says the caption in the video, which was produced by West's campaign. "Two Iraqis were arrested. No attacks occurred." Of course, none of that proves that what the prisoner told West was true, whether the suspects arrested were linked to that plot, and whether the interrogation was the reason that no attack occurred.
Around 1:45 in that video, Lt. Col. Neal Puckett says unequivocally that in this interrogation, "no one was hurt" and that "important information was extracted" -- which contradicts the findings of investigators who interviewed West and the soldiers who witnessed the interrogation. Was Puckett even there? Doesn't sound like it.
Puckett also volunteers that West was charged with "minor infractions" and that West retired voluntarily. But the record shows West was originally facing criminal charges of assault and communicating a threat and that he avoided prosecution only by giving his resignation.
This isn't to diminish the sacrifices and risks that West took in being deployed to Iraq in 2003 -- he may have been a model commander up until that interrogation. But what American soldiers do to Iraqi detainees, Iraqi soldiers have every right to do to American detainees. So West's responsibility to his soldiers was to behave with more civility to that detainee. That would have been truly courageous.

What a load of utter shit. " But what American soldiers do to Iraqi detainees, Iraqi soldiers have every right to do to American detainees. So West's responsibility to his soldiers was to behave with more civility to that detainee. That would have been truly courageous." With that final statemen this writer reveals his complete lack of rationality. By his account then what ever Iraq insurgents do to our soldiers we have EVERY RIGHT to do to theirs.
Allen West was a hero for saving the lives of his men!! You idiots need to differentiate between the act of war and the action of soldiers who are forced to fight in those wars...for the record I wish Amad Shah Massoud would have been alive to take power in Afghanistan and create a nation instead of an area of tribes and toss the Arabs and Pakastani terrorists out of the country forever. There was nothing wrong with what West did..desperate times call for desperate measures..and if any of you pimply assed whiners knew anything about conflict and having responsibility of others thrust upon you then maybe you would know what it is like to find honor in any of your actions. The creator of this blog is obviously a moron who knows only partisanship and therefore is as effective as those in congress today....
Unless you have gone to the battlefield it is my humble opinion you can never know what it is like or what you would do.
Hey Virgil. People who speak in absolutes always reveal their bias and ignorance. Always, never, don't be naive. If they never worked no one would do it. Ask the Russian interrogators if they got accurate information for the Nazis. "They all talked".
Lets talk in real life terms and examples that everyone can relate to. After 9-11, Special agents captured the three known responsible participants and asked for executive approval for enhanced techniques to get the information necessary to prevent further loss of potentially thousands of more American lives. Three mass murderers were severely interrogated and provided the information necessary to prevent further attacks and save thousands of lives.
The information the was provided was accurate and saved lives. The left wing media refuses to push for this information that would release what information was provided because it worked and saved lives. Not theoretical nonsense but hard proof that the right actions were taken and the right time.
We are not fighting soldiers, but monsters that torture and decapitate our soldiers upon capture. Showing monsters sympathy never gives the results that liberals would have you believe. The only thing they understand is strength. I can give you countless historical examples that prove this point.
I was looking for articles about this on Bing and came upon your piece. I found it to be really useful. Thanks
That's not to say that you won't run out of steam talking about your craft topic, because we all do at some point.
There are many traits that make a great blogger that include a passion for what they write about, a blog that is focused on the needs of their readers and amazing creativity to name but a few.
Too many people try to submit their post to every social networking site that they can find only to feel overwhelmed by the huge number of social networking sites that have sprung up in a relatively short time.
I'd love to see how long all of these Broward-Palm Beach liberals would last in Iran or Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan! They should thank God each and everyday that they live in America where you have freedom of speech and they need to stop attacking our soldiers who give their lives for us everyday so we can continue to have our freedoms. If you want to criticize someone, go after the traitor who leaked 95,000 classified documents and put countless of lives at danger.
Also, pray for Lance Cpl. Abram L. Howard and his family, he was a Marine, 21 from PA, who died while supporting combat operations in Helmand province just a few days ago on July 27. Never forget the 5,601 brave Americans who have given their lives for our freedom while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I bet all of you have served America bravely! Hiding behind your laptops, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, criticizing those who truly heard the call and went to defend this great nation, put their lives at risk and yes, also saved your worthless existence! I would love to send you to Iraq, because by the end of your deployment you would make Abu Ghraib look like a preschool pillow fight. Your emotional stability wouldn't last more than a day after going through an ambush attempt. The police rat got what he deserved, and he wasn't hurt at all in the end they just scared the crap out of him which is good because a show of strength is the only thing they understand over there. West made the best decision of his life and it was backed up by countless military families and 95 members of Congress. Now atheists (i.e. Communists) and the liberals who would put them into power on the other hand are responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths in Europe and Asia and Africa.
@Craig B
Hamooodi was not an enemy combatant he was an Innocent Civilian Iraqi Policeman.
West's actions show the REAL enemy that torture is justifiable, That is WHY we don't Torture detainees. To protect OUR own Troops.
West's Hot Head and rhetoric endangeres many US Soldiers still.
Endorsing him is like taunting and breeding Terrorists.
You, West, and Bush just can't see that far into the future though I guess.
@ Craig B:
You're a douche. You just created your own set of facts, none of which bear any resemblance to the truth. I notice you completely ignored the links to interrogation professionals who all agree that torture produces nothing but false confessions and endangers our own soldiers when they are captured. BTW: I don't give a crap about the enemy. I just stand for constructive intelligence gathering, which this wasn't. This was a cowboy engaging in something he wasn't trained for at any level. P.S. My father is a 100% Disabled American Veteran so you can go fuck yourself with your right wing disparagement of progressives.
I admit everything I said was a sham. I have penis envy of Lt. Colonel West. I am nothing more than an idiot, and have not a stitch of credibility!
The misguided within this column are abundant. US officer threatens an enemy combatant in order to obtain information, that no matter how you dissect it may lead to the saving of at least one US life, no matter the tactics, it works, information received.
Islamic Radical grabs US servicemen - shoots them and leaves their bodies behind. Islamic radicals grab a US Journalist, and cut his head off on video.
And Col West is wrong? Lt Col West has more patriotism in a fingernail than those of you who disagree with him and his actions. Wait, I'll throw a play from the leftist handbook - you dont like West because he's.... ARMY!
GOD BLESS YOU COL WEST!
Francis, you seem to know a lot about
war
"So for the soldiers to catch wind of an ambush by Iraqi insurgents must have been a fairly common occurrence. The difference with this particular rumor is that the ambush was specifically targeting Lt. Col. Allen West."
and I'm sure you are a brave man as you assail others who fight wars for you. How about posting a simple little cartoon on this blog of Mohamed? See what happens tough guy. Try being a target for a while before you judge a man or shut up.
Cmon, post the cartoon tough man. Subject yourself to danger. Then I will criticize you for doing it wrong. Just like you.
Little girl.
LOL... Thomas Francis. You're a complete disgrace. You American or a foreigner. I mean seriously... trying to denigrate a man who spent over two decades fighting for the freedom for you to sit on your little POS computer and print stupid garbage like this... All because you're threatened and jealous of this Hero.
Until you've done an ounce of the service West has for this country, I suggest you shut up.
All that matters to me is that the people closest to the situation and most likely to share his philosophy and his perspective, nameley, his superiors and the JAG, were prosecuting him for misconduct. He conceded. end of discussion
Alan West is whacked out. He Peter principled long before he resigned.
Dear Chazzie Stevens,
Well, I am disappointed to say the least. I was hoping that our first session had helped you realize the severity of your psychosis, and that you were taking steps to come to grips with your fear of masculine men such as Mr. West. Alas, it seems that is not the case. Hopefully it is just a minor setback.
I see that you are still very much anally fixated. Your subconcious desire to have yogurt stuffed up your rectum is alarming in its intensity. Is this just a fantasy or have you actually engaged in this fetish with one of your male lovers (Judge Sirica?)
At the close of our last session, I recommended that you recite a few lines over and over when you become enraged by a display of masculinity by someone such as Mr. West. From your post above, it is evident that you have not been following my directions, and reciting the lines.
Remember the lines. They went something like this:
I (Chaz Stevens) will not dream of stuffing yougurt up my rectum while having sex with one of my male lovers.
I (Chazzie) will not display fears of masculine men.
I (Chazzie Stevens) will not come off as a total retard when I blog.
I (Chazzie) will not attempt to cover up my lack of masculinity by attacking Mr. West.
I (Chazzie Stevens) will not display my fear of women by refering to them as cunts.
I (Chazzie) will not come off as some kind of egotistical dipshit by refering to myself as Chaz Stevens Genius.
I (Chazzie Stevens) will no longer engage in circle jerks and daisy chains with my male lovers. (Virgil?)
I still believe I was on target with my belief that your father was the individual that sexually assaulted you, but I could be mistaken. All of this talk of yogurt up your rectum and tongue depressors has me wondering. Did you spend time in the county jail or a mental ward, as a youth? Were you gang raped by other inmates or prisoners who were black? This would help explain your unhealthy, pathological dislike of Mr. West, who I believe is black. Yogurt is quite often served with meals at institutions such as jails, mental institutions, etc. Did other inmates or patients stuff yougurt up their rectums and then force you to __________?
Anyway, that is something we can delve into during our next session.
Chazzie....I must close this session. I have a paying client waiting. Rather than rehash our previous session, I have pasted it below. It would be to your best interest to peruse.
Do not be alarmed. Backsliding such as this occurs on occassion. I feel that with contunued sessions your putrid cesspool of a mind wil clear up and become the bright happy place of Hope & Change that you so desire.
In closing I do have one question. When you daydream of having yogurt stuffed up your rectum, is there a particular flavor, such as chocolate? If the flavor is chocolate, this would help clarify your fixation on Mr. West, yogurt, rectum, tongue depressors, etc. I really believe we are on to something with this line of thought.
Think about this fixation and we will discuss it during out next session. But, as hard as it might be for you to not become sexually excited when thinking of chocolate yogurt, rectums, tongue depressors, etc...force yourself not to become erect. If you have an erection lasting over four hours, seek medical help at the nearest ER.
TTFN,
Dr. Eric
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Previous Session:
Dear Chaz,
My friend and colleague Randy has asked me to take over your case. Randy's field of expertise is in the area of psychosexual dysfunction. My area of expertise is also in the field of psychosexual dysfunction but with an emphasis on how and why that particular malady relates to the criminally insane.
After consulting with Randy and reading the previous posts by you, I must concur with Randy's evaluaiton of your mental state. Although I am quite busy at the present time, after reading your posts, I simply can't walk away from you. It rips my heart in two to see someone in the shape. Now, with that said, I do firmly believe that I can help you.
I noticed in your 10:40 am post that you deny threatening Randy. Denial seems to be your method of dealing with the truth. It is obvious to all that your reference to "packing heat" was meant as a threat towards Randy. I am agree with Randy's evaluation of that particular statement and what it means to you on a subconcious level. As Randy would say, "On Target". I believe I would be correct in saying that denial has become a way of life for you over the years. It is your escape mechanism of choice. As a young boy, being anally raped by his father, what else could you do. I am sure that you have blocked the abuse out to the point that only someone trained in the area of psychosexual abuse would be able to pinpoint the cause of your psychosis. Just be thankful that Randy read your posts and was able to engage you in conversation long enough to reveal your unhealthy psychosis.
Now, let us move on to your illusions and delusions of grandeur. In your 11:41 a.m. post you brag about being nominated as one of the hottest people in south Florida. When you say South Florida, does that mean a square mile radius of one mile?, two miles? Wow, South Florida, now that is impressive. That is right up there with Hottest Tadpole in Farmer Brown's Farm Pond. Randy once "won" Navy Seal of the Year" but you didn't see him bragging about it. Notice I said 'won'. He wasn't nominated by who knows who...he 'won' it. Chazzie....there is a difference.
Let us move on to your paranoia. I mention paranoia due to your calling Randy an Internet Tough Guy. I can not find any instance of Randy trying to be a Tough Guy in any of his posts. Do you suffer from hallucinations, along with your paranoia? If so, you most likely are a Type II Paranoid Schizophrenic. People with type II, or negative schizophrenia, are usually described as poorly adjusted before their schizophrenia slowly overtakes them. They have predominantly "negative" symptoms, such as feeling of grandeur and fear of others, especially of people that appear to them to be authoratative figures, and then there is a slowing of mental and physical reactions (psycho-motor retardation). Do you sometimes stumble when you walk? It is quite evident that you stumble when you try to think.
Well, I believe that is quite enough for our first session. I hope this little talk has opened up your eyes and given you a little insight into that dark, putrid, cesspool that is your mind at present. But, as I said, I firmly believe that if we work together, we can make your mind into the the bright sunny place of Hope & Change that you are so desperately crying out for; if only on a subconcious level.
In closing I do want to discuss one subject that Randy failed to mention. When you are engaging in anal sex with your male lover (NOWEST?), please use a condom. I would hate to see you die of the Aids Virus before we can make a mentally healthy person out of you.
"Some state unequivocally that torture never produces useful information. Firstly, what Lt. Col. West did is not torture."
I'll remember that next time someone feels the urge to shove your head into a barrel filled with sand, and fire a shot near your head for the purpose of convincing you that you are about to die.
"He asked his soldiers to put Mr. Hamoodi's head in a sand-filled barrel usually used for clearing weapons."
P.S. I love how I post two articles where intelligence professionals state unequivocally that torture produces false intelligence, and the West apologists completely ignore them.
Nevin says:
When someone uses expletives and insults to make their point.
Our apologies in advance for disturbing your delicate sensibilities for we know not any better - being that we often channel our inner Bukowksi.
So fuck off wanker.
Col. West and Joyce (the voice of sanity) Kaufman would be true blue heroes in Tel Aviv.
But not here in Wimpland USA....
One only needs to read the original posted blog and the comments offered to know the reason, or lack thereof, of the writers.
In the unlikely event that a rational person reads this comment, I will ask the reader to consider. Do we presumpively take Mr. Hamoodi's assertions as true? He states that he does not remember what he told Lt. Col. West and that he would have said anything to avoid being killed. It is obvious that Mr. Francis believes Mr. Hamoodi. Yet he has no more reason to believe him than he would have to believe Lt. Col. West.
Some state unequivocally that torture never produces useful information. Firstly, what Lt. Col. West did is not torture.
Lt. Col. west is reported to have stated that, perhaps he may have been wrong. It sounds to me like he is more open to considering all aspects of a story than the blog writer or those who hate Mr. West.
The fact that the U.S. Army's J.A.G. Corps threatened Lt. Col. West with courts martial, does not persuade me that he was guilty. Nor would it persuade Mr. Francis of that guilt if the accused was of his political leaning.
It is all about politics. Again, I am glad that the repugnant climate of "political correctness" and moral rot was not a part of American culture during World War II. If so, we would not have prevailed against an enemy no less vicious or dangerous than we face in our war against extremist Muslims.
Yes, because it provides another opinion, with assertions and facts that disagree with your point of view. It is most telling about your intolerant temperment that you have to resort to nastiness and smears as a means of making you point. It deflates your credibility. It is one thing for someone to oppose West and use civil, professional arguments, but it is another matter when someone uses expletives and insults to make their point.
Again, I reiterate my desire to confirm the following rumor...
West likes to jam yogurt in his ass and put a stick in his mouth and pretend to be a human popsicle.
Anybody? Anybody? Anybody?
Nevin: Is your idea of providing more balance and another perspective to post an opinion piece by someone, where the first few sentences are a complete lie?
"One thing we know about Army Lt. Col Allen B. West is that he actually succeeded in collecting human intelligence in Iraq."
___________________________________________
WRONG!
"Mr. Hamoodi said that he was not sure what he told the Americans, but that it was meaningless information induced by fear and pain."
I'm curious. Are you conservatives capable of reading a story and comprehending it at the same time?
West didn't obtain dick from Hamoodi, other than some story Hamoodi pulled out of his ass to save his own life.
That's the story here, and we can have every right wing knuckledragger post some irrelevant bullshit, but it is not going to change the facts.
In order to provide more balance and another perspective on the case of Lt. Col. Allen West see the article below. Folks may also want to check out A Missing Link in Leadership: The Trial of Ltc Allen West by Dr. Richard Berry. This book demonstrates, among other things, Lt. Col. West's leadership skills and his view that his soldiers were "comrades in arms," since he was dependent on them for the success of the unit. In a word, Lt. Col. West's leadership ability was modeled after Gen. Omar Bradley, the "Soldier's General." Before we dump on Lt. Col. West as a "war criminal," we need to put into perspective the type of enemy the Coalition/US forces are fighting and the fact that their political code/culture/tactics-strategies of prosecuting war is vastly different from that of the West. See the article below for another point of view:

Don't Prosecute This Hero;
Lt. Col. West Prevented Sniper Attack
BYLINE: Terence P. Jeffrey
SECTION: VIEWPOINT
LENGTH: 763 words
HIGHLIGHT: If a captured terrorist knew that a weapon of mass destruction was hidden in New York, would we applaud-or indict-an FBI agent who used West's tactic to find the device before it detonated? TAKE ACTION:Tell Defense Secretary Rumsfeld to Spare Lt. Col. Allen West!CLICK HERE
One thing we know about Army Lt. Col Allen B. West is that he actually succeeded in collecting human intelligence in Iraq. Another is that his emergency information-gathering technique may have saved American lives without taking enemy lives. And a third is that the Army has relieved West of his command, and may now court-martial him, cancel his pension, and send him to prison for up to eight years.
Can't see how this adds up? Nor can I. But this is the sum of stories broken last week by Rowan Scarborough of the Washington Times. The Defense Department may soon inflict an injustice on an American hero, whose wife, a cancer survivor, depends on his military health benefits, and whose daughters, who first gave him up to a war, may now give him up to prison. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld can stop it. On "Fox News Sunday," Brit Hume asked Rumsfeld if he could "overrule or short-circuit" what's being done to West. "They tell me that's the case," said Rumsfeld. But Rumsfeld-who recently wrote a memo urging subordinates to think outside the box-is uncharacteristically playing the careful bureaucrat. "The Army is addressing this," he told Hume. "It will move along in its normal order. And at some point, it could conceivably come to me, in which case I shouldn't say how I feel personally." But the buck is already on Rumsfeld's desk: Will he spare West, or wait to see if the "normal order" sends him to the guardhouse? If he wants West spared, the longer Rumsfeld waits, the longer he subjects West and his family to unnecessary anguish. Is this prudent policy? Do we want Army officers turning their attention from catching Saddam to court-martialing this colonel? West told his story to the Times' Scarborough via email. It began August 16, when guerrillas attacked some of his men enroute to a town near Tikrit. An informant said a town policeman was involved. West ordered the policeman brought in. He proved uncooperative. When West went to interrogate him personally, some soldiers roughed the policeman up. But he was still uncooperative. That's when West pulled his pistol. "Once I fired into the weapons-clearing barrel outside the facility alone," said West, "and the next time I did it while having his head close to the barrel. I fired away from him. I stood in between the firing and his person." The tactic worked; the Iraqi ratted. He revealed a planned sniper attack, and named three colleagues. Two were arrested, a third fled town. West immediately informed his commanding officer. "I accept responsibility for the episode," West told Scarborough, "but my intent was to scare this individual and keep my soldiers out of potential ambush. There were no further attacks from that town." West was not instantly charged. Only after an overall "command-climate investigation" of his brigade, did an Army prosecutor cite him for assault. The prosecutor offered him a choice: Resign before qualifying for his pension (which occurred last Saturday), or face court-martial. West refused to resign. "I accept being retired at the grade of major and paying whatever fine required, but resignation and prison seems an attempt to destroy me," he told the Times. He now faces an "Article 32" inquiry, which will determine if there is cause for the threatened court-martial. Putting this warrior on trial would be a travesty. If West's actions were technically illegal, they were not immoral-and are the perfect candidate for prosecutorial discretion from up the chain of command. Faced with a lethal threat against his men, West used less than lethal force to protect them. His intention was to preserve, not destroy, life. It was justifiable self-defense. During the Cold War, the U.S. embraced Mutual Assured Destruction to deter a Soviet nuclear attack. That worked, too. Do we regret it? If a captured terrorist knew today that a weapon of mass destruction was hidden in New York, would we applaud-or indict-an FBI agent who used Lt. Col. West's tactic to find the device before it detonated? Americans don't believe the end justifies any means. Lt. Col. West's means, however, were proportionate to the threat his men faced. Secretary Rumsfeld should say so and grant West retirement at full rank and pension.

Hey Douche:
1) Did you read West's own words? "It's possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi."
2) And are you aware that every professional interrogator that has any credibility is against torture because it does not produce actionable and accurate intelligence?
"The military agency that provided advice on harsh interrogation techniques for use against terrorism suspects referred to the application of extreme duress as "torture" in a July 2002 document sent to the Pentagon's chief lawyer and warned that it would produce "unreliable information."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/24/AR2009042403171.html
The real issue is how long are we thinking Americans going to be subjected to these right wing inbeciles and their idiotic ideas?
@Tom Smith
the people who were there brought the charges against West, and the investigative report, prepared by people who were there, speaks for itself. he violated his orders, the CMJ, and common sense. regardless of what you thing of interrogation techniques, West shouldn't have been involved at all. so he's a rogue soldier and an idiot. and he doesn't have the integrity to even tell the truth about what happened, so that makes him a liar to boot. if he wanted to claim that he thought he acted correctly, and that the rules he operated under were silly, and that he wants credit for violating them, and that his superiors are wimps, great, go for it. instead he just lies about what happened and what he was charged with.
Francis, were you there, or were you too busy sitting in your mom's basement blogging BS that nobody reads? Francis, you're pathetic. Keep on blogging away - and remember, nobody gives a hoot what you say.
@Shana
It's your mentality that gonna drag us everyone into an all out nuclear fucking war.
Congratulations!
You just ended civilization...
PS Tell Glenn Beck I said hello.
What's the big deal?
So Col. West hassled an Arab!
Like if West had been with the IDF, he'd have won a medal.
Like you sob sisters make me yutz!
According to the interpreter, Mr. Hamoodi finally "admitted there would be attacks, and called out names." Mr. Hamoodi said that he was not sure what he told the Americans, but that it was meaningless information induced by fear and pain.
At least one man named by Mr. Hamoodi was taken into custody, according to testimony, and his home was searched. No plans for attacks on Americans or weapons were found. Colonel West testified that he did not know whether "any corroboration" of a plot was ever found, adding: "At the time I had to base my decision on the intelligence I received. It's possible that I was wrong about Mr. Hamoodi."
What these rightwing morons never seem to comprehend is torture is counter-productive to obtaining accurate and actionable intelligence. As proven by West himself, when someone is physically abused and threatened with their life, they will say anything.
Literally everyone worth anything in the intelligence community is acutely aware of this and denounce torture of any kind. The Repukelicans use this issue as they use other issues, as a wedge to show that the liberals are weak. However, it is not a weak v. strong issue. it is a smart v. dumb issue, and we all know generally speaking that the conservative masses are as dumb as a bag of rocks.
West is either completely disingenious because he knows torture doesn't work, or he is an idiot. Pick your poison.
Enclosed is an article about someone who unlike West, is actually skilled in the art of military interrogation and understands that torture creates false information and is counter-productive to obtaining intelligence.
Jack Bauer is a fictional character you conservative mongoloids.
