Allen West Does Not Want the Word Coexist on His Bumper

• You cannot COEXIST with those that do not recognize your right to exist. If you are an American....Christian, Morman, LDS, etc...do your homework. If you don't worship allah you are an infidel and do not have the right to live.....period. Regardless of how the argument is presented or which side of the fence you stand on, COEXIST WILL NEVER HAPPEN!

• I think he has a point. Very often the mantra, "Tolerance" is as much rhetoric as that insipid sticker. And very often Tolerance implies pardon, permission, accord, apathy. I don't tolerate Radical Muslims. I don't tolerate fundy Christians who claim I have no right to my personal reproductive privacy. Because a terrorist manual, their Bible, tells them so. Very often as the faith symbols denoted on that sticker allude a harmonic convergence of faith systems all living in peace, it's simply not possible! According to the very tenets of those systems. It's like unto creating a sticker, as I've seen parody this mans speech, featuring the symbols for all the political regimes in the world. Nazism can not coexist with Democracy, etc... So it's time to face the facts that no, we can't all get along. Respect has to be earned, not given for granted. We're not a world of happy little people and we never shall be. In order for there to be world peace, every one of nearly 7 billion would have to first reach an accord, a toleration, for the meaning of that word; PEACE. And then they'd have to coexist according to that tenet. Put 20 strangers in a room, and ask them as a group to each spark up a conversation on 2 different topics, with the person next to them starting from the left. First topic: Politics. Give it an hour. Then change the topic sparking the conversation starting with the person to ones right: Religion. Give it an hour. Gage the volume of the voices, the emotions, in the room when each subject is being discussed. When you do that and you watch and listen to that, then you'll know we do not now coexist. I had also requested that he forward to your email address my responses. Hope you had received it. Lt. Col. West was not trying to be hateful regarding the bumper sticker issue. Instead he was providing an admittedly strong opinion based upon his knowledge and reading of the history of Islamic dictatorship and expansion.
