  • Services were held Sunday in Deerfield Beach for Paulette Noel, the 68-year-old Haitian woman who was killed Saturday night when the van she was riding in crashed on Florida's Turnpike near Yeehaw Junction. Noel was returning from a day trip to Universal Studios with other members of St. Sanctuary Church. There were 15 other passengers in the van, but Noel was the only fatality. [WPLG-10]
  • Developers for what was to be a gay-friendly resort on Dixie Highway and 15th Avenue have abandoned the site based on code violations and difficulty with the family that owned the trailer park, made famous in the Demi Moore movie Striptease. [Sun-Sentinel]
