Fort Lauderdale PD Helps Nail Fugitive Attempted-Murder Suspect in WPB

On Monday, Fort Lauderdale police found the man they've been looking for -- Marquous Daunte Deyounks (left). He's accused of trying to kill a woman he'd just gotten involved with, back on July 14.

A verbal dispute escalated, and Deyounks allegedly produced a knife and sliced up his new girlfriend's face and neck. He then took off for Jacksonville, police say.

The FBI and the U.S. Marshall Service then determined he'd left Jacksonville and headed south, to West Palm Beach, where authorities were waiting for him.

Fort Lauderdale fugitive detectives, the PBSO, and the FBI Fugitive Task Force found their guy holed up in a house on Palisades Drive and took him into custody without incident. He's currently residing -- without bond -- at the Broward County Jail.
