Felony Past Puts Boyd Anderson Football Star in No Man's Land

Categories: Broward, Sports

That video's from an all-star game in January. These days, Demar Dorsey doesn't have nearly as much to smile about. The Boyd Anderson star, who originally gave a verbal commitment to the Florida Gators, then switched to the Michigan Wolverines, now finds himself without a destination after the school released him from his letter of intent.

The Michigan coaching staff is trying to blame its reversal on Dorsey's iffy grades, but more likely, coaches were pressured to ditch Dorsey after a Detroit paper dug up his felony arrests in Broward County. The university is trying to clean up its act after completing an internal investigation that showed a lack of institutional control by Coach Rich Rodriguez.
