Obama's Crist Line Falls Flat at Correspondents' Dinner

You just knew that Charlie Crist would appear in a punch line during Obama's speech at the correspondents' dinner. It comes around the seven-minute mark of the video above. He and his speechwriters decided to merge that with a crack about the couple that crashed political parties last year. The text of the joke:

Odds are that the Salahis are here. There haven't been people that were more unwelcome at a party since Charlie Crist.

As you can hear for yourself, the joke went over like the proverbial lead balloon, probably because it doesn't make sense. Crist didn't crash the Republican Party; it crashed him.
