- Former Broward County Commissioner Josephus Eggelletion will be sentenced today after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an FBI bribery sting. [Miami Herald]
- Police have identified the man whose remains were found in a box near Jog Road and Beeline Highway in April 2008. It's Francisco Cuevas of Coral Springs. Detectives are still looking for clues about who had a motive to murder Cuevas, who was last seen by his family in November 2007. [WPTV-5]
- There's concern about a possible norovirus outbreak at eight separate locations in Broward County -- which are all reporting the same flu-like symptoms -- including a homeless center in Hollywood and a retirement community in Pompano Beach. [Sun-Sentinel]
- Lynn University in Boca Raton will hold a memorial for the four students and two faculty members who were killed when an earthquake struck Port-au-Prince, Haiti. They were there for a relief mission. [Palm Beach Post]
- The Dolphins apparently had a verbal deal to sign Steelers safety Ryan Clark, a much-sought-after free agent, but they offended Clark by expressing concern about a sickle cell condition that plagued him in 2007. [Miami Herald]
