George LeMieux Congratulates Self for Leaping Over Low Bar of Expectations

There's the pride of Broward County, George LeMieux, talking about the terrible suspense as he waited to hear whether his best friend, Charlie Crist, and Crist's chief of staff (a position LeMieux held the year before) were going to appoint him to be a U.S. senator.

It's a heartwarming story and an important lesson for the kids in the audience: If you work hard, if you study public policy and you become a conscientious and ethical candidate for higher office... well... you can still get beat out by a crony like George LeMieux. Still interested in a political career, kid? Didn't think so.
