• I know that there is a lot of kidding going on about Rothstein and his witness protection. So far he has not provided much cooperation. I'm sure his co-conspirators are on their way to jail, but beside one unrelated small case, what else has he done to shave time off of his sentence? Does anyone know what the total money recovered is? Getting everyone their money back is the best way for Rothstein to shave time off his sentence. As far as plastic surgery and relocation... cooperating witnesses in federal facilities are separated from population, but they are still in prison. Rothstein will likely be placed in some type of low security prison that has a separate location cooperating witnesses that need to be protected. Hopefully his sentence is more than the 20 years that Dreier got. In the end the money might be similar, but if you add forging federal documents, election fraud, and who knows what else it should be in the 25 to 30 year range. I don't see anything he's done so far that leads me to believe he could get a major break. Those who compare him to other mob snitches are extremely off-base. If he was truly a big time connected guy, you would have seen a ton of arrests already. The only guy that he seemed to ensnare was a small player at best, and upon reading the articles about the arrest, the guy is nowhere near as important as Rothstein made him out to be.
