Where the Wild Things Are: A Sex Offender's "Island" in West Broward

• Young must be a pathological liar.  He just can not seem to stop himself.  he calls Silver a "predator" when Silver has no such designation.  Again, it is easy to verify Young's lie. It is this writer's opinion that sex offenders should stay away from Randy Lee Young.  While it may be true that Young helps sex offenders find places to stay, what 'bloodyrazorsedge' (everything is in the name provided) doesn't state is that the places Young finds are either owned or rented by him, and that Young is the recipient of the money.  So much for Young's 'Good Samaritan' image.  If Young can not make the profit, he does not help.    There was a time, of course, when Young purchased a decent house for a sex offender for 50K then turned around and sold it to the sex offender for 100K. Is that what a "Good Samaritan' does?  Young is allowed to be a capitalist; what he isn't allowed to be is an apparent cheating liar. In so far as addresses, one has to ask Young why he has so many addresses.  Is it so he can go trolling the neighborhoods looking to molest young to teenage boys?  Also, what Young won't tell you is that he can go places for short periods of time and not register.  Is this too so he can look to endanger the welfare of minors. For those of you who reside in the vicinity of Young's properties (addresses provide below), please be certain to report Young to the police if you see any of his supicious activity such as moving in or out after 11:00pm, as he so often does, disorderly conduct as when he is throwing things or shouting at people who pay money to him for for his tyrannical abuse, or if you see him with what appears to be teenage boys. • Couldn't help but reread the continuous lies.  Four deputies at the house before the final resident returned home, and each deputy will negate the lies to which you attest. So you believe in indentured serviture; you believe in 24 men living in a 1400 sq. ft. house, and you call it decent? Knock it off, Young.  Quit the lies, report only the facts concerning Young's behavior.  We've placed our proverbial cards on the table.  We're ready to go.  LIGHTS!!!  CAMERA!!! ACTION!!! As for your accusing Silver...tell the truth.  Had any molestation occurred against his students IN FL, I guess he would have been arrested, tried and convicted in FL.  But that did not happen, so again you lie.  If what you say is true, then there will be an arrest, trial, and conviction for Silver in FL.  As for what happened to Silver in HI, once again you lie.  According to the trial transcripts, Silver was acquitted of one of two pool incidents by the judge before going to jury deliberations, and the HI Supreme Court overturned the other charge that allegedly occurred in the pool, thus, under the law, nothing illegal occurred in the pool.  You really seem to have a problem with truth.  And as always, all we can offer to support our claims is video tape, multiple witnesses, reports with three government agencies, trial transcripts, Supreme Court rulings while all you can offer is...lies, lies, and more lies. As for the Broward County School Board, they come to the table with, as lawyers say, unclean hands.  Let's read about the case of former school board member Myriam Oliphant and contender for the school board, Andrew Green.  But I guess he wouldn't have been awarded $850,000.00 in his victory over the school board at the cival trial if the school board hadn't tried to ruin Mr. Green in its apparent illegal attempts to make him look like a criminal by placing some nasty things in her personnel file.  But then again, Oliphant was removed from her elected posoition as Supervisor of Elections by the governor when once again, she was caught with her hand in the proverbial cookie jar. But Silver is not the one looking for publicity, getting his name in the paper as a "Robin Hood," or any other do gooder acts to which Young lays claim.  More would speak against him, but perhaps they feel it is better to live under the roof of a tyrant than to be homeless. This will be the last I discuss of Silver.  This will be the last we care to address your attempts at deflection.  We would not address it at all if not only to prove how much the written facts speak for themselves, and all you have is lies. Are we ready for the show down, Young?  I'm talking 60 Minutes, Dateline, 48 Hours, not the local news.  Let's expose you for what you are on a grand scale, and no, I will not agree to any televison where you demand in writing that your face will not be seen on television you, child molester, you!!!

• Everything "Get Informed" said can be proven with the Broward County Sheriff's office, the FL DOC via numerous Probation/Parole Officers, Broward County Code Enforcement, and the FDLE. Young sold the house to Faldas in May, 2009.  The remaining two residents had a written rental agreement for the property, which did not include Young.  Self-Help and Unlawful Evictions (illegal under any circumstances) via a party who has no ownership or authrization to act on behalf of the legal owner may not serve eviction notices, nor may he physically assault anyone to serve such a notice. As for whoever responded to "Get Informed," and we believe it's you, Young, stop the lies.  Let's have an open television interview.  Let's invite the four deputies whose names I've collected, the four other witnesses to Young's literally jumping up and down like the spoiled fat liar he is shouting, "This is my house...I own this house...it's mine!!!"  And if that's not enough, let's play the video from the squad cars, and from two video cameras held by the witnesses.  Let's also have no less than five DOC officials discuss Young's behavior, the file they have on him, and why they refuse to refer any offender to him anymore.  Let's also show the video of the older child running around on the grass at 11:23pm shouting, "Let's kick some butt."  Yes, what a fine model of a parent. As for any parent that would knowingly place her children in the care of a covicted sex offender (Young) with two other sex offenders in the house, one on probation and one on parole, that parent should immediately have those children removed from her care; they should be placed in Foster care and  the state should seek parental right revokation whilke arresting and jailing her and her child molester do-gooder in whom she places so much faith and trust. Since your trying to expose people in the light in which you want them to be seen and not the truth nor any implications of yourself.We've heard your untrue allegations of Randy and the spoken woman and children in a conspiracy, why didn't you include anything about yourself. i mean obviously you found need for Mr. Youngs' services. but wait just a second before we go there, Barry. You accuse a mother of endangering three children, which it's kinda sad you can't count being an ex school teacher but was let go with a slap on the hand for molesting your very young students, there was only two children there. As you know the mother and children were seperated and in a single room together as Randy was nice enough to give us a place to stay for a couple of days as we were in danger where we were living at the time after my husbands death. YOU were not supposed to even be there, you had been evicted and that was your last day to be out. You came in late at night ranting and raving something about your rights and that you had hired a lawyer so you could stay there. There was no conspiracy as you are accusing of made up molestation charges. You were not legally supposed to be there so there would not of been trouble for you, YOU brought the trouble with you. The police officers did not have him nor i arrested or my children taken because we did nothing wrong. Because you used the resources of your momma to get you a lawyer to get a quick order to let you stay is the only reason we left and when you left the next day we were back. Barry Silver was a school teacher who molested children in Broward county and was fired, getting by with it with a slap on the wrist as many offenders do so they have opportunity to do so again. which in your case thats what exactly happeneSo you take off on a vacation to Hawaii. While there you molest a child under the age of 12 in a swimming pool. Caught and convicted. But what you did in a malicious and sneaky way was hide the other allegations that occured in broward county so hawaii only chanrged you on what they knew. Had they of know you would be not just known as an offender but a sexual predator that you are, walking freely.A repeat sexual predator and your complaining about the rights of your living conditions someone supplies you with. I have seen several of the places Randy has supplied for what i see as a decent price for rent under the circumstances its cheaper than most peoples rent. He has invested a lot of time and effort into finding places to make a home accessable for you freakin perverts to have a place to stay that doesnt break any stipulations under the guidelines you are required to live. He provides a service and obviously you needed it, wanted it, used it, fought to stay there and then want to bitch about what a "cancer on society" he is. I know his charges and i know yours. Hes never molested, raped or touched a child or adult. You perv will never be reformed. • As for Randy Young, I know this man personally. He is a cancer on society and on sex offenders. Again, I can prove illegal act after illegal act this man committed and he is still walking around freely. He violates codes in his illegal renovations; he's been chased out of neighborhoods for running illegal rooming houses; he's packed 24 men into a three bedroom house of approximately 1400 square feet and charged them rent starting at $500.00. He claims to provide sex offenders with housing when they can not pay, but he turns them into indentured servants who often have to work 12+ hour days to "earn their keep." He often forces them to do the unpermitted building of rooms, unpermitted electrical, unpermitted plumbing, etc. He has no license to run a facility for the elderly or the infirmed, but he takes them in and has inexperienced and unlicensed people provide the care for them. While doing this, he collects their SSI checks or a good portion of their social security checks for the rent. As for the food stamps, he "strongly" suggests all members of the house pool their allotments together and buy food for the house, which Randy Young eats without contributing. Those who appose Randy Young are often faced with threats of physical violence and/or actual physical violence. I am one of Young's victims. When someone does not bow down to him, Young tries unlawful and self-help evictions. He was surprised when I refused to move out but hired a lawyer instead. Young was so infuriated by my having an attorney go after him (most of his residents are too poor to go this route) that he pulled the most hideous and atrocious act he could pull. He brought three young children into the house where I resided. His plan was to have me come home, due to curfew and nowhere else to go, and have the children accuse me of molesting them. Young and the mother with whom he conspired to perpetrate this disgusting scheme would be the adult witnesses to the molestation. Had it worked, I would be in jail, mot likely, for the rest of my life. After all, who would believe someone twice accused by multiple children wherein the acts were supposedly witnessed by adults. A room mate sent me a text telling me what was happening in the house. He had already reported what was happening to his PO before he entered the house. I called the sheriff's office and had the deputies meet me at the house. By the time I arrived, there were four deputies at the house. Young was finally ordered to remove the children from this house for sex offenders or he would be arrested for child endangerment. He was irate. I can not understand why with four deputies there did not arrest him and the mother anyway! Each one should have been charged with three counts each of conspiring to endanger the welfare of a child and endangering the welfare of a child. The children should have been removed from the mother's care and placed into foster care. So much for justice.

• Never I have seen so many uninfomed people offer so much "what to do and how to do it" on a subject wherein they have no knowledge. Dear G-d, you people need to think things through. Residency restrictions fail miserably in making certain that sex offences do not repeat themselves; the registry might make people more informed, but it violates the rights of those who are on it; and now the continued attempts at civil commitment once an offender has served his jail time is nothing more than an end run around "double jeopardy' for those who served their time. Why not have registries for DUI offenders. I want to be certain I am nowhere near some one who is driving under the influence, and arsonists, how do I know my house won't be burned down by the person living next door who was convicted of arson, and what about registries for burglars? I want to know where they live so I know from whom I must protect my home. Aren't they as sick as sex offenders? They rape the rights of others, steal our sense of security, and violate our rights to a constitutional right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The truth is that all these ridiculous measures violate people's rights and do little to promote actual safety of others. All it does is help those who want to be politicians or re-elected to political office achieve their goals so they can look like they are doing something to protect society. It's the same as those politicians who say they are improving education by proving how badly the educational system is now. Politicians get into offices and develop tests that differ from what teachers are teaching in a classroom to illustrate how poorly the educational system is run. New tests, new textbooks, new monitoring systems have to be put in place. Where ever does this money come from??? Do you understand what I'm saying? No one wins with a witch hunt. All that's being done is telling citizens what to be afraid of, whom to be afraid of, and where they should be afraid of them. The lawmakers get to pass the laws (that which burns the violators at the stakes) to offer you a false sense of security that you are being protected. And as long as you have the right to keep those politicians in office to do what society deems politically correct, you'll keep voting for them. All people must have a purpose, a sense of being. If history has taught us anything, it has taught us that when any group oppresses any group for a period of time, the oppressed group will rise up, fight for its rights, and overcome the opressors! Read the bible; read the history books; it never fails to happen this way. Let the offenders have their lives after they serve their time, "pay their debt to society." Allow them their jobs, places to live, etc. They must have their right to co-exist in this world. Deprive anyone of that right, and history will repeat itself every time. For those with unsubstantiated opinions, I'd like to tell you to keep it to yourselves, but the fact is that if you are not given a forum to express yourselves, regardless of how uninformed and unitelligent you sound, you too will rise up and overcome to be heard!!! • Safe and Desirable Neighborhoods? Can such a thing exist anymore? We are an extremely mobile society and anyone choosing to believe that any residency restriction will stop someone who wishes to molest another is living in fantasy land. Multiple studies have shown that where an offender lives has no bearing on where,if, or when he may re offend. What DOES have a bearing is if that offender has a home, job, treatment, and resources nearby. Residency restrictions strip him of all of that and make it more likely he will re offend. Thank God, the general re offense rate for sex offenders is between 2%-13% or we would be in a bigger mess than we are now. Dehumanizing, treating these men worse than animals, making them homeless, is not the way to help them to be good little boys and girls. Common sense tells us that. Oh, sorry, it DOES kinda nip your desire to spew hate and revenge at them...but then hate and revenge never kept one child safe either. We must decide what we really want, to live in fantasy land and indulge our hatred of the crimes and the people who have committed one for the rest of their lives, or protect our children in the best, most effective ways. Experience tells us you can't have both.

• The criminal justice system has debated what to do with sex offenders for decades. After decades of research we now know that certain types of sex offenders are beyond rehabilition; no therapy or remedy exists that will eliminate the impulses they have to victimize. Sound policy would dictate that we first classify "sex offenders" into categories. We have those who prey on children, we have statutory rape that is "consensual", we have date rape, etc. Once we classify them, we need to determine which types have a propensity to do so again. These types need to be on GPS monitoring for their lifetime with ares where their chosen type of victims hang out, like schools being programmed into their GPS device as exclusion zones. State DOC needs to supervise them. Unfortunately the State doesn't want to spend the money doing this so they pass the buck and let the cities and counties try to come to terms with it. No residency restriction is going to prevent a sex offender from reoffending. It is ridiculous to think so.

We have finally after years of research come to the conclusion that no amount of therapy will curtail certain types of sex offenders impulses to victimize. Sound policy would first distinguish types of sex offenders. The child predators being the worst and those who expose themselves as a separate class and so on. The worst need lifetime monitoring. No restrictions as to residency will prevent reoffending. Instead these "lost causes" should be on GPS monitoring with the State Dept. of Corrections for the remainder of their life. Of course the State doesn't want to use that logical conclusion because it costs money. Heaven forbid reason and logic dictate legilation!!!

• no one is ever going to make it illegal for a felon who has served his time to move interstate. we don't have border patrols at state lines to check documents. Florida couldn't pass a law banning released sex offenders from other states if it wanted to - it would be unconstitutional. the only relevant issues are who gets released in the first place, and once they are released, where do they live. our silly legislators trip over each other with silly NIMBY distance from schools, school bus stops, libraries, etc. laws, and then add more distance every time they feel the need to look tougher, and by the time you take all the protractors out, you get one spot in the entire state, so guess what happens? if you have an idea, let's hear it. I sympathize with your frustration, but I think we need a whole different approach.

• Its amazing that the writer assumes a "fair" stance should be taken with offenders when Florida is one of the least "fair" states in relation to its citizens. Mr. Francis obvious leanings in favor of offenders dont take into consideration that Florida is a dumping ground for sex offenders for no other reason than the beaches are better. The writer fails to mention that Florida's "powers that be" should put the breaks on Offenders moving in from other states or offenders falling thru the cracks of deportation policies "because no formal relations exist" with offenders home countries, so Florida residents must continue to absorb and re-run them thru the system time and time again.(with more victims). Ahh it must be nice to be oblivious to the real world and fail to grasp the very real fact Floridians have more bad guys in relation to its citizens and children with little or no oversight than nine tenths of the rest of the country. What the writer fails to grasp is Florida neighborhoods are on self preservation mode and what do our legislators have to offer as a remedy? "Lower the residency restrictions"..what a joke..When the judicial,the interstate compact commission, Department of Probation and Prisons start playing fair with Florida residents, then and only then can Floridians stand back and take a hard, honest and fair look at the problem, dont bother taking it to city and county officials (we did) and made it understood that guys like Randy Young are a virus on cities and his "transient" tenants have no "skin in the game" unlike the very people who try and build safe and desirable neighborhoods. At some point many people are going to have to get the fact we arent responding to the world in which "we would like it to be" we are reacting to what "it is" and its not fair and its not pretty..
