Let's see what's in the local news this morning.
  • An internal affairs investigation found that Fort Lauderdale Police Chief Frank Adderley did not involve himself inappropriately in the car crash case of Moe Sohail, a close friend of both Adderley's and disgraced Lauderdale attorney Scott Rothstein's. [Sun-Sentinel]
  • The 65-year-old black woman who was the victim of a hate crime last week at Red Reef Park in Boca Raton spoke to a TV news crew about how she was assaulted outside a clubhouse, then beaten while her attackers hurled racial slurs. [WPLG-5]
  • In the Acreage, state health officials confirmed what's been obvious for some time: that there's a cluster of pediatric brain cancer, with girls being especially prone. But those same officials still have found no convincing chemical suspect to blame on the cluster. In the meantime, attorneys continue to circle. [Palm Beach Post]
  • Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter told ESPN yesterday that he wants to be traded by the team, freeing him to join a team that won't expose him to the humiliation of being a "role player." Careful what you wish for, Joey. Or you could buy yourself a one-way ticket to Detroit. [Miami Herald]
  • A Lake Worth senior drove onto the sidewalk and struck a woman and her 10-year-old son around noon yesterday. Both are hospitalized as police investigate the reason for the accident. [WPBF]
