• Excellent outcome, so far. Sometimes, one almost gives up hope that any of the corruption will be removed in this banana republic known as South Florida. And, then, along comes a story that may just work to bring about real change and restore hope. Sylvia has been getting away with doing her own thing for a long time. I remember going into her county commission office many years ago with Leola McCoy, and being a part of an audience to one of her breakdowns. I can still remember what she said to me when I told her that the county commission was doing the wrong thing in violating the law when permitting Sani-Med medical waste incinerators and the crematory incinerators to pollute the communities with dirty burns that could possibly endanger the health of the residents. She told me that I should mind my own business because I would have no idea what a black man can do to his family when he goes home. The diatribe did not even make sense, and Leola would later tell me that Sylvia could be a self-hater at times and the worst type to insult those of her own race when defending herself if she felt backed into a corner. Sylvia is a real piece of work. If the charges are proven true, she is a disgrace to her community. If she has been taking money out of federal funds or any taxpayer coffers that are supposed to go to those who are on the bottom side of the socio-economic scale, she (and any cohorts and facilitators) should be sent to a prison, with any and all pension and retirement benefits stripped away. To take from the poor and desperately needy, seeking a decent place to stay warm with a roof over their heads, is obscene. Chaz, you really are a genius to follow through with what you say you do. Thanks for your tireless effort in bringing this problem to the attention of the right people. It now appears that moneys will not be funneled away, and the forensic auditing firm will see whether or not any discrepancy has also injured the city�s bottom line.
