Pro-Israel Rally a One-Sided Affair; Rallies to Become Weekly Event in 2010

As you can see from the video above, this year's pro-Israel rally in downtown Fort Lauderdale did not attract last year's batch of counterprotesting, virulently anti-Semite Muslims. Just a bunch of like-minded people furious over the Obama administration's handling of terrorism threats and diplomatic policies in the Middle East.

The rally last Wednesday afternoon, which was organized by Shalom International, attracted 300 people, according to the group. In an email to supporters, President Bob Kunst said:
While the Islamic Nazis usually manipulate events we have reacted to, our pro-active event only had 3 Muslims across the street who soon left and one car with Muslims who came by and yelled at us, plus one motorcycle with a guy screaming at us 'F-Israel', the rest were with us en masse.
That does not a viral YouTube clip make.

After the jump, the speech at the rally by Joe Kaufman of Americans Against Hate -- who last week accused Davie Town Council member Susan Starkey of anti-Semitism.

Get used to seeing this group of demonstrators. Shalom International is planning to rally every week on Pines Boulevard in Pembroke Pines, starting Wednesday evening. That's in addition to two weekly rallies in Palm Beach County: Mondays on Jog Road in Boynton Beach and near the Florida Atlantic University campus in Boca Raton. The group will also rally every week at the federal court building in downtown Fort Lauderdale every Tuesday at 5 p.m.
