Rubio Fields Tea Party Question on CNBC

Categories: Florida, Politics

That's video of Marco Rubio from last night's The Kudlow Report. At the 2-minute mark, Kudlow asks Rubio to respond to the recent profile in New York Times Magazine, which asked whether Rubio is "The First Senator From the Tea Party?"

Of course, Rubio saw that question coming from a mile away and he sidesteps it cleverly. He doesn't say he is a Tea Party candidate. He doesn't say he isn't. Rather, he says that the Tea Party is a "catch-all" description for people who are frustrated about big government. Then Rubio gives the Tea Party folks an elegantly broad mission: "They believe that everything that's wrong with this country can be fixed by what's right with this country."

Problem is, they don't all agree on what's right.
