The Unhappy Dippolito Marriage

Dalia Dippolito wasn't as happily married as her husband thought.
When his wife was arrested for allegedly plotting to have him killed last August, Boynton Beach resident Michael Dippolito said he was shocked. He told police that he and Dalia Dippolito were on a "fast-track" relationship and got along so well that "we were together 24/7," he told Matt Lauer on the Today Show.

But privately, Dalia was clearly unhappy. She complained to friends about the husband she married four months after they met. She told one man -- a former lover who eventually ratted her out to police -- that she was irritated by Michael's need for daily routines, such as going to the gym at 5:30 every morning.

"She can't stand that, and she basically wants to get rid of him," the man told
Boynton Beach police.

On August 1, four days before she was arrested, Dalia texted a friend to complain about Michael's mom. Michael would later tell police that his mother and some of his best friends never liked Dalia. His mom even suspected that Dalia had tried to poison his tea. Apparently the bad feelings were mutual.

"I think his psycho trailer trash mom is coming today," Dalia texted her friend. "She can never just be here for two or three hrs like normal people she stays for ten hr."

"Last week she was with us for five hrs and no intention of leavn it sucked I finally said something to him and she still wouldn't get the hint she left pissy."

While she texted, Dalia said that she was sitting at home, bored, because Michael was recovering from liposuction "to get rid of his love handles."

In the weeks and months to come, Dalia would be the one portrayed in the media as a cosmetic-surgery-loving, superficial woman. But for now, she and her friend ridiculed Michael for having the operation.

"Really? R u kidding me?" the friend texted.

"No for real," Dalia wrote.

"That's pretty gay," the friend replied.

"I know he's so superficial and the sad thing is someone like him. Will never be happy," Dalia wrote.
