The Mystery of Uncle Bill (UPDATED)
You can say a lot of things about Scott Rothstein (and you have), but one thing that's hard to question about him is his loyalty to his parents.
| Casablanca, Morocco |
Which brings us to his uncle, who was called Bill Brock. His real name is William Boockvor, and he worked for Rothstein issuing checks at the firm. When people asked Boockvor what his job entailed, he would say things like, "I watch the money."
Guy obviously had his hands full.
It's widely speculated that Boockvor left the country with Rothstein when he
fled to Morocco. Firm members say that's what happened.
Rothstein's partner, Stuart Rosenfeldt, told the Wall Street Journal that Rothstein wired $16 million to someone in Casablanca before leaving. We have to imagine that he got the bulk of that cash there. He returned with a duffle bag full of cash. How much of that $16 million is missing, and did some of it go to Boockvor?
[Rothstein told me Monday that his uncle returned to America with him and only accompanied him for "moral support."]
Speaking of Morocco, it's still a mystery why Rothstein chose that country. But a clue might have come in an "urgent" email he sent out to his firm's lawyers before he fled. In the email, he claimed he had a client who needed to know the countries that didn't have an extradition with the United States and Israel. It's obviously assumed now that Rothstein was asking for his own information.
So why would Rothstein be concerned about being extradited to Israel? Who did he cross there? And does this tie into his reputed fear of organized crime? Because the Isaeli Mafia is the baddest of them all. Might he have gone to Morocco because he was safe there from both U.S. authorities and Israeli commandos? Might sound far-fetched, but there's nothing about this story that isn't.
I was thinking yesterday that Lt. David Benjamin and his boss, Sheriff Al Lamberti, must have felt tremendous relief when Rothstein returned from Casablanca. What an embarrassment to have basically escorted an international fugitive out of the country. With Boockvor, though, that still may be the case. I'd like to know more about Rothstein's "friendship" with Benjamin -- and with Lamberti, for that matter.
And finally, I ought to have a quote of the day for David Stone, whose words you must take only at face value (he's a political consultant and original dirty trickster, after all). This one comes from his blog: "Rothstein insisted I had to support [Alex] Sink and told me he had a commitment from Sink that he and Broward money man Austin Forman would 'pick all her gubernatorial appointments' and 'all the judges.'"
He also emailed me about Rothstein's recent "bugging" of the office:
"I did forget to mention that he BUGGED the entire offices with audio listen devices in about Nov-Dec of 2008," Stone wrote. "Getting my start with Dick Nixon I was NOT interested in having my conversations taped - so I stopped using the office. The staff was formally notified of the new devices that would let scott listen in to a private of phone conversation anywhere in the office. Paranoid. Controlling. Out of his league."

Posted On: Saturday, Nov. 7 2009 @ 1:25PMBob;
I've spent lots of time in Morocco and I'd like to share with you a couple of thoughts:
1. Moroccans really don't like Americans. Ever since Insane King George Bush I blew the living snot of out Iraq back in the 90's. When I was in country, I hide my American Passport under a cover that had the Canadian flag on it.
2. Morocco is predominately Sunni Islam. The only people Sunni's hate more than Americans? Jews.
3. Speaking of Jews, while Morocco *once had* a rich Jewish heritage, very few Jews now live in that country.
4. As a devote Islamic country, booze is consider, shall we say, "very bad". I've been detained by the Surete Nationale Maroc (Moroccan Federal Police) for drinking in public. Not a pleasant experience. While there are plenty of western style hotels in Casablanca and Rabat that offer alcohol, it's the exception and not the rule.
5. When I determined that Steve Rothstein was in Morocco, I wondered to myself, what the fuck was he thinking... An obnoxious, boozing, loud mouth American Jew with benjamins falling out his pockets would stick out like a sore thumb.
One final thought. When I was tracking Rothstein's Moroccan traction to my blog, I noticed *two different* computers were coming to visit. One was a Mac and the other an older school XP laptop. I wonder if someone can determine if Uncle Buck was duly equipped.
I've got special "trip wire" software installed that is on the lookout for those boxes, but as of yet, no joy.

There might even be a Nancey Grace connection via kaylee anthhony case.
I can just see it now Sarah Palin and Nancey Grace making a guest appearance together on David Letterman and talking at the same time. His brain might short circuit.

Your attempt to be funny failed, but you did manage to jump the shark along the way.
Posted On: Saturday, Nov. 7 2009 @ 1:47PMF.S. 934.03 requires consent of all parties, if there is "Reasonable expectation of privacy." RRA LAW FIRM, if that is not where one would expect the hightest reasonable expectation of privacy, I belive we have gone through the "Looking Glass "
And if anyone from RRA is relying on the Third DCA case of Cohen Brother, LLC vs ME Corp., SA, 872 So. 2d 321 (Fla. 3rd DCA 2004), they are wrong , which held that members of a limited liability company's (LLC) management committee did not have a reasonable expectatiion of privacy with respect to participation in phone conference call ... RRA WAS A LAW FIRM NOT A MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF AN ACCOUNTING FIRM.
This is a 3rd degree felony punishable up to 5 years FSP.
The positives in this story should not be neglected.
SR is a local stimulus package. Before the fall there was the unbelievable consumption, the charities, the advertisements, and the security details. Now the beneficiaries are the defense attorneys, the forensic accountants and their staffs. Not to mention Bob Norman, who should get a bestselling book out of this, and who is probably redefining investigative journalism as print newspapers continue their decline.

If I might be so bold, if your IT guys managing your MovableType stuff are logging visitors to your blogs, have them search for IP's originating from:

196.*.*.* - Morocco
190.*.*.* - Venezula
200.*.*.* - Venezula
201.*.*.* - Venezula
On Nov 2, 2009, Sedition had hits from Casablanca (41.248.229.69). Since the traction to my blog was a redirect (click thru) from NT, I guarantee you guys had hits from Casablanca on that day.
What would be *EXTREMELY INTERESTING* is if you had hits originating from Morocco *AFTER* Rothstein returned home. While not a gimme, it would be a pretty darn good indicator that someone else over yonder (perhaps Uncle Buck) was intrigued with your writing.
At the very least, casual examination of your logs will show you how much time (while hanging out in N. Africa) Rothstein et al spent reading your blogs.

There are witnesses, who, years ago were sitting in Hamilton Forman's office as he took a phone call about a FL Judicial candidate. Hamilton's conversation was asking the party on the other end, "We took him down? We did - GOOD!"
So, this is absolutely fact about the Forman family. There are witnesses who have seen this over the years...name names?!?

Posted On: Saturday, Nov. 7 2009 @ 6:38PMi think there is a good chance Rothstein jumped another plan in casablanca to Venezula where he dropped off a huge chunk of money and his goofball uncle. i heard from a decent source that he did go to venezula- but since he returned it is easy to conclud that is not correct. but i do not think his uncle or his stolen $$$ would be safe for long in Morocco. maybe some research is needed to see if any jets had plans from casablanca to venezula and back just prior to his return here.
chaz- it may very well have been Rothstein that pinged from there- we all know he trolled in here hard. but don't forget there were at least 3 other americans in casablanca during that same time who could have been checking the forums- the pilots/crew of the G5. there would have been a minimum of 2 pilots, possible 3 for that trip. they were on the ground waiting for the return flight. maybe one of their friends back home told them about the news and they wanted to read up while sitting in that crap hole.

Donkey Farmer Austin Forman Files Suit Against Commissioner, Citizens
By Bob Norman Mon., Oct. 5 2009 @ 7:52AM
Typical Modus Operandi of an "ass" etal.
Lori, perhaps the Forman Family "appear" to make good investments. However, it all started on the "courthouse" steps years ago with Hamilton buying up properties via "property tax deed sales". Something, you should be quite familiar with. Wouldn't call throughing people out of their farms, homes, properties, etc. for a couple of dollars, honorable.
And, leveraging local elections, then branching out.
And, of course, let's not forget wealth gotten by public funds ie tax dollars of bond money for hospitals - North Broward Hospital District by buying votes.
Then, there are cemetaries ie Forest Lawn
getting zoning via local vote buying of local politicians.
Forman invests in future votes by buying politicians, judges, law firms, engineering firms, etc, etc, etc.
We can smell the manure from the "asses"
all over the State of FL.
Time to take Forman down FEDS. Hope Rothstein gives you plenty.
@ lady justice
I'm not a lawyer, however after the Anna Nicole Smith fiasco there is no such thing as the law anymore. Just a good story of the week to hide the war. 5 years will end up being time already served. The RRA lawyers were obviously being held against their will by a speaker system that will turn into an ankle monitor by the time its finished in court. What about the Swiss Bank? What happened to that office? It looks more like a bank robbery to me. The better story might be who paid Scott to do that? They also got employess to help them at Wachovia, etrade, Levitt Weinstein, blood labs, Drs, Realtors etc., not to mention illegal phone tapping and identity theft. oh yeah and the garbage picker. Good thing for a great investigative reporter and Mr Gillies and his calculator. I'm sure everyones parents didn't work hard to educate their children to become criminals. Hopefully these guys grow old quickly and the next batch does it differently. Pulp keep the stories coming there is so much more.
Scott is smarter than all of you. He is going to walk, smelling like a rose.
Have you ever heard of attorney-client privilege?? SR was only representing his client who was behind all of the shenanigans.
All of the money flowing through RRA is completely accounted for, taxes paid. It is somethng called a "Contingency Fee."
He merely represented the un-named client and did his fiduciary duty.
The whole act of flying to Casablanca one must acknowledge was inspired by the OJ Simpson White Bronco slow-speed chase which took place EXACTLY fifteen (15) years ago!
Lawyers take an oath, much like those elected to public office to tell the truth and uphold the public good.
Anything else you want me to explain??

I am wondering if you might be on target in regards to the pilots ...cuz this is what I am thinking....Mr. Stevens said it was a Mac and and the other an older school XP laptop. Now would you not think SR would have his own personal laptop with him- and from learning about his over the top lifestyle- would he be the owner of a Mac or an older school XP laptop? Doesn't it seem much more likely that the pilots used the computrs available in their hotel or wherever they were alighted 1.e. Internet Cafe..that may also explain why there were no further action with regards to the "trip wire"....

Posted On: Saturday, Nov. 7 2009 @ 8:07PMat a minimum adler and rosenfeldt can expect some serious issues with the fla bar. even if the feds and the bar believe that they knew nothing of the massive ponzi scheme being operated out of their law firm in their names, the bar is probably not going to be thrilled with the defense that they knowingly turned over exclusive control of the trust account to a guy who was spending money like a drunken sailor, while refusing to provide details to anyone. not good at all.
Posted On: Saturday, Nov. 7 2009 @ 8:16PMDr A- those pilots had their own laptops for sure. i know a couple people who fly private jets and they are laptop junkies. they need to have internet access to make their schedules and coordinate with their employer etc. they travel and sit and wait alot...

Posted On: Saturday, Nov. 7 2009 @ 8:46PMThe truth about the Joe Dimaggio NeoNatal Unit to be named after the Rothstein family is a funny one. He pledged a 4 million dollar gift to have the naming rights. It was to be made in 4 installments. The first check BOUNCED and Fank Sacco almost shit himself. The naming ceremony took place without the actual signage hung and neither Scott nor Princess Kim showed up - nor did a check arrive via courrier in time.
A couple weeks later a check arrived and it cleared! So they got 880K and obvioulsy are out the rest of the money!

I do feel bad for the charities. SR screwed over the kiddies too. Just think, a charity goes through with plans to build something cuz SR makes (another) promise (to be broken) and now they are faced with prospect of an enormous funding shortage. That is sad. So, when SR says he let down the ones he loved, he also let down the one whose love he bought (with criminal proceeds).
This story is just starting to unravel!

Forget about it !
Judge Ana will be leaving the bench soon and the Ana saga will come to an end.
What is Ana going to do when she's out of a job along with RRA boyfriend Howard Scheinberg? Howie she will dump you like hot cakes.
I told you all those lies Ana told were taped and would come back to haunt her. Stay tuned.
Just like the big one she told that during the murder trial where she was the Judge and Howie was the prosecutor. Remember when the records showed those more than two hour telephone calls from Howie's mobile telephone to Judge Ana in the wee hours of the morning (2:30 AM). Judge Ana stated under oath that she was talking to Judge Charlie Kaplan who was using Scheinbergs phone. Give me a f___ing break, what law school did you go to.
Yea Ana you were part of Charlies demise as the stress of you didn't help his already unhealthy condition.
Thank God for Bob Norman exposing all the corruption in Broward because if it were not for him it would be business as usual. I worried about Bob's health as there is so much at one time I worried about him stressing.Bob, how do you do it?
Prediction: Stuart Rosenfeldt lawyer's up by tomorrow morning (Monday).
Ana, I was talking to a lawyer last night who made a motion to obtain all the evidence and presented Supreme Court rulings and 4th DCA rulings and you said well I liking bucking the 4th DCA and ruled against such a minor request. Well you were reversed. I would think your tired of getting reversed and wasting taxpayers dollars or are you looking for a job with the law firm on the other side. Maybe you and Howie should partner in a firm.
More to come.

Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 10:25AMThe last minute double cross of Lamberti in the 2008 Broward County race, Sheriff's race is a ROTHSTEIN classic.
Rothstein gets his restaurantuer partner Tony Bova to give $300,000 to a committee supporting Lamberti. The money was Tony's- the contribution was legal. It came from Bova's operating account.
Then Scott Isreal committed to give Rothstein the $1M plus labor realtions legal business at BSO- so Rothstein double crossed Lamberti and gave $170,000 to a shady committee supporting Isreal but controlled by Judy 'the Douche" Stern. Scott funneled the money in thru straw men Stu Rosenfeldt and Dave Boden, illegaly.
Israel lost. Lamberti refused to move the legal business to RRA after he was elected.
Judy, don't laugh too hard at Rothstein's plight. Your commisioners are falling like flies. You're next.
Who's got Roy Black? Ed Shohat? Some of these big names are still at play...what's the deal?
The criminal with drug issues got Fred Hadad fast. Nothing like associating with Florida's number one mob lawyer to show that you really ARE just a lousy crook. Birds of a feather, and all that.
And regarding Rosenfeldt shopping himself around? If you here the door bell ringing...DON'T ANSWER. It's probably not AVON.

I'm curious how does a rich dude buy an interest in a settlement? Assuming he takes the bait, is there a legal contract? Do I as Rich Dude pay $1 million to Ponzi Guy so he can supposedly front victim Sexy Suzy her harassment settlement? And does the contract say that Ponzi Guy will pay me Mr. Rich Dude $2 million within x-months? After Perpetrator Pete liquidates enough cash so Sexy Suzy will not force him (and his family) into a public trial?
I'm curious because rich people don't get there by being always so stupid. Sure, probably some deals are done on a handshake, but the whole complexity and uncertainty of this settlement stuff would seem to require a written contract. So is the FBI finding the written terms of agreements?
How can people be smart enough in business to make a pile of dough and then fall for something so apparently stupid?
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 11:57AMI've found Bill Scherer to be a pretty decent guy. It's hard in this corrupt town not to have rubbed shoulders with the thieves once-and-awhile. I think we should start with the really really really really bad guys...the ones who don't require any digging to see their crimes. Then let's make the law enforcement agencies whose salaries we pay, do the right thing for the community. Thus far, it looks like our Sheriff, Commissioners and many elected officials were bag men for the criminals.
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 12:46PMdigging into crimes? elected officials? bag men?
From Bob Norman:
Another man on the FBI cruise was Skip Aniekwu, then a project manager at Gulf Building Corp. Aniekwu seems to be a major thread in this investigation. He was involved in illegal activity in Miramar and then was involved with the corruption at the School Board. Aniekwu's company, Gulf, is owned by John Scherer, son of prominent attorney, landowner, and former North Broward Hospital District General Counsel Bill Scherer. Sources say Papa Scherer, who serves as registered agent for Gulf, is deeply involved with the company. Interestingly, School Board records show that John Scherer and Aniekwu were both present at the QSEC meeting during which committee members voted Pirtle as contractor for the Hollywood Hills job.

Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 1:07PMa thought; maybe the police escorted SR to the airport and took him on a joy ride all the while dangling him by his ankles. It turns out to be the simulated plane at Disneyworld with pics of clouds floating by. He never liked gymnastics because he gets disoriented hanging upside down. He's recovering somewhere from his rather explosive mess and luckily his sister can get a stain out of anything.
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 1:14PMCoffey is saying that Rosenfeldt had no access into the inner sanctum. WRONG. Stu parks in the same caged parking where Scott did and rides the "private elevator" which lets him off on the inside.
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 1:19PMLord,the crimes at the top. I'm glad I can say my name without having to put a: Govenor, Senator, Judge, Commissioner, Mayor in front of it. Titles are diminished from here on out (with the except of "Investigative Reporter).
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 1:30PMOh Lord...if the corruption isn't enough. I'm told someone heard Judy trying to sell her influence to secure preferential treatment for cells and cellmates. I don't think she has the power to do that. You know, Rothstein wanting to be with Adler, and what not...BOTH demanding the cell with the window...yaddayaddayadda.
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 1:37PMWRONG is who says WRONG...
The private elevator lets you out in the hall, around the corner from the main elevator block. Even SR had to walk down the hall to enter RRA's main or "inner sanctum" entrance.
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 1:49PMIf all of the personal, vituperative comments are eliminated, it appears that most respondents are able to decipher the lame excuses of the RRA attorneys. Bob Norman MUST be nominated for a Pulitzer. Sadly, being an investigative reporter in Broward is like being a mushroom in a cattle barn. There's SO MUCH SH8T there, you can't help but develop and grow. When RRA no longer offers food, there's Eggeletion, Prestige Builders, the School Board, and the City of Tamarac approvals for golf course development in the middle of senior citizen housing, (hey, they're about to give Prestige an extension on their site plan deadline with NO public input or discussion). Poor Bob is going to develop carpal tunnel syndrome, will be working 18 hours a day, and will finally get a break when his child is in grad school. Bob...take time to smell the roses...no one will stop being crooked...ask them, they'll tell you, "...Oh, I'm too smart for them." I wonder if the County Commission has the guts to declare a "Bob Norman Day" in Broward County?

Lay off the online porn! If God intended you to have cybersex, she'd have given you three hands...
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 3:26PMChaz, why let the world know you're tracking ip's? Didn't you just let the bad guys know to stay off your site or to hide their ip's?

Stupid is as stupid does (see Rothstein, Scott).
The savvy operator, i.e. me, uses special back door" pages, to act as the canary in the coal mine.
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 5:01PMSheriff Lamberti, Executive Lieutenant David Benjamin and Big Colonel Tom Wheeler are in/ were in bed with Scott. Wheeler is longtime friend and hotline (RED PHONE) to Gov. Crist. College room mates and forced upon BSO as a campaign payback. Should be interesting to see if Lamberti takes action against David Benjamin who is the acting Captain of Internal Affairs when he so chose to escort Scott and Bill out of the country via BSO Passport. Wheeler and Benjamin are attached at the hip. Golf, travel, boozing, etc... Big Daddy Crist is his only claim to fame. Clueless in law enforcement. GOD HELP US!

Advertising. Traction. Buzz.
If the Government is depending upon me to nab SR & Company, we're fucked.
Posted On: Sunday, Nov. 8 2009 @ 8:19PMLooks like SR had more of his inner sanctum making contributions for him. http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?st=&zip=33301&last=HOWARD&first=AMY
Posted On: Monday, Nov. 9 2009 @ 12:12AMThe latest from my sources at Rick's Cafe in Casablanca:
Uncle Bill may be the former Mr. Bill of Saturday Night Live
William Boockvor a/k/a Bill Brock a/k/a Uncle Bill hung out in the offices at RRA and just did not seem to fit in.
RRA employees and shareholders had to know that it was not normal for an older man to just hang out at a law firm all day walking around pretending that he was a ward of the office. I mean that could explain Jenne but this guy too?
What does Jenne know about this?
