A group of Florida education nonprofit organizations has named Broward Schools Superintendent Jim Notter its Superintendent of the Year.

The prize, from the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, recognizes Notter for supporting the Broward Education Foundation, which is the school district's nonprofit fundraising arm.

The Broward group provides college scholarships to high school seniors and grants to teachers for innovative projects.

word from the fbi is that wolf was assassinated in Russia weeks after fleeing his home on a canal off the intercoastal and 826. the whereabouts of his wife and child are unknown.

So SR deposited and removed as much as $230 million + from trust accounts as late as October of this year, according to these blogs.

If he was stealing that money for himself, as well as the rest of the money over the last few years, he would have really disappeared. Why? Because he knew he would get life in prison and never enjoy the fruits of that labor.

What makes more sense is SR was caught or set up by the mob participating in a crime, like the murder of a lawyer, or some small time corruption.
Then the mob extorted SR and forced him to steal from clients and give them most of the proceeds.

The reason the Feds are taking a long time to arrest him, is that he is exposing a very complicated scheme of fraud that he was forced to perpetrate on investors, so that his own crimes would not be exposed.

Once SR has exposed the mob, politicians, and everybody else he can to "pay back" the feds for future services renedered, he and his family will disappear into witness protection. (that is assuming that his story and the resulting arrests are enough to satisfy the feds.)

This story is going to get much more interesting once it is revealed that SR was caught in a catch 22.

He came back from Morrocco because the feds told him if what he said happened really did, they would protect him and give him a new life.

The feds of course are in the process of either being convinced or not about the whole thing, and will not make the choice to either arrest or hide SR until they decide if it is worth it.

This also explains the erratic behavior and spending patterns of Rothstein. He knew he would eventually be exposed, and the only chance he had to enjoy the money was to spend it. If the mob tried to stop him, he would just stop stealing and they would be screwed.
First they were able to control him, but after he passed money to them, he had a certain amount of control over them.

If all this is correct, the movie rights alone might bail someone out of a deep whole!

Many investors will fail to come forward because SR convinced them to rapidly remove Swiss account money due to the IRS crackdown and amnesty program coming to an end.

They removed the money, gave it to him for fast investment, and now the "illegal" money is gone; and they cannot obtain help - except for gangster-type help which, as I understand it, has been bought and paid for.

When SR was in Casablanca, they flew in (he had no idea) to meet with him and threaten him. This worked - he returned to the US to develop a repayment plan and save his family and life.

Note he is much more controlled now and also shows substantial fear - as he fights the clock.

2, i have taken a fairly detailed look at rothsteins assets that the feds seized. if they dispose of them in an orderly and careful fashion it should net significant dollars back for the investors. between the property, the jewelry and the businesses it should yield far more than the recovery in madoff
3. think what you want to think....rothstein is a scumbag....but what makes him really dangerous is he is a smart scumbag.....he deceived alot of people and many of his businesses made money without the ponzi scheme. the government should make this fucker work to repay the investors. from fed prison.
4. anyone who knows anything about a ponzi scheme knows the losses are always greatly exaggerated by the government. losses in madoff started at 50 billion and are not at 19 billion. a ton of money...but off by about 30 billion. not exactly a rounding error. the problem is they count money 20 times....same money in and same money out does not increase the amount of money.
5. a huge amount of money will be recoverd from all the greedy motherfuckers who made hundreds of millions from rothstein. they DO NOT get to keep the proceeds. Morse, levin and company will be returning their profits. assuming levin did not spend his on his fifth or sixth jet and morse on this 40th or 50th mistress and supporting his car dealerships
6. and what happened to knew or should have known.
7. a source close to the investigation has advised that morse lost nothing.....he was paid back 30 million of the 58 and made back the rest in profits. and pleeeeez....dont try to tell me he did not know what was going on. he was rothsteins best friend and was cashing in on these deals for millions without knowing anything....give me a break. they are car dealers. money is money to them, stolen or otherwise
8. it is now crystal clear that there were alot of people soliciting investors. did they not have an obligation to perform due diligence before pushing the product. of course they did. banyon for example....a semi legit....ahhhhem.....investment company. sec is taking a good long look at them for years....even before rothstein. u think they are not culpable. WRONG. levin and his little friend preve are in it up to their ears.
9. boden and pearson....ask around...they were running their own scam. in fact i heard they were not only scamming the investors but were scamming rothstein as well. he deserves it. but it will come back to bite them in the ass

On February 25th U.S. District judge ruled Nadel could be released after posting a 5 million bond. $1 million in cash, and four people with a close relationship could guarentee his bond on the other. He was also subject to electronic monitoring. Apparently South Florida FBI handles things differntly. I suggest someone freeze Rothstein's assets.
By now being the attorney he is, I am sure he has his bail money squirreld away. Bernie Madoff didn't name any names, claims he worked "alone".

The criminalization of America's populace is the last growth industry left. Please..Scott doing all he can to pay money back...he doing all he can to turn life in prison to 20 years is what he is doing. I have heard of that Platinum Fund..apparently some very shrewd brilliant guys..that Nordlicht guy is an investment genius I hear...their record is something like 21% annualized return over 7 years...cutting edge strategies...they have won all kinds of awards in the hedge fund industry. Why is SR not behind bars right now?

It suits the purposes of the Fed to have him out right now because:

1. Being free allows SR to make contact with everyone who may be useful to them in their case? (Saves on shoe leather and time.)

2. They can create the illusion that the preferred treatment is due to his cooperation in getting the bigger fish.. are you listening Charlie??? Thereby motivating them to flinch under pressure doing something stupid, thoughtless or incriminating.

3. Leaving SR free creates a need for cash and gives the arrogant and narcissistic one motivation to actually tap into some of those hidden resources leadimg the Fed's right to them.

Can anyone think of any other reasons?
