Why Palm Beach Should be Glad Kucinich Isn't Coming to Dinner

• Hi Lisa Rab~ I live in Dennis's district in Cleveland and I can see that you have never been and have zero idea about what you are saying- you sound like a lazy and incurious writer~ I don't need Wiki as a resource to know that Dennis always wins his district, which includes wealthy suburbs as well as Cleveland neighborhoods, by a margin of 65%~ he is the most consistent and zealous advocate for our city and our people and that's why he gets re-elected time and again, he is honest and incorruptible. Clearly you have been listening to the few dead-enders who never got over the fact that he was right then, and he's been right since. Dennis was the one who led the fight against the Iraq war resolution, it was Kucinich that said Saddam had no WMDs, and no connection to 9-11. It was Kucinich that exposed those lies and led 1/3 of our congress to vote against Bush's war. Bush would not get his "Gulf of Tonkin" blessing for attack, no one can say that "we all got it wrong" regarding WMDs because Kucinich was saying so from the beginning. For you to so casually dismiss this man's record just goes to show your own ignorance. Disagree with his policy agenda if you must, but maybe you've forgotten that Israel isn't a part of the USA- and if you care so much about the West Side of Cleveland, where is you're big fat article about the $3billion in tax money we give to Israel, that they then use to lobby Congress and spy against the United States? huh??? Perhaps that money would be better spent here rather than constructing illegal settlements on occupied land and lobbing white phosphorus bombs on civilians trapped in Gaza.

• Wow, Lisa Rab isn't my real name? I had no idea. As for Kucinich, I'm curious how many commenters have ever been to the West Side of Cleveland. It's not a place that can afford to have its Congressman constantly out of town, burning $2 million on presidential campaigns. Actually, a lot of police officers and firefighters live on the West Side. I'm sure they appreciated Kucinich's "brave" move to let Cleveland default on its loans, causing 600 city workers to lose their jobs. Of course, Wikipedia can be tricky as a source sometimes. You must have watched a couple youtube clips of Dennis interviewed by Fox News to come up with this thralling headline. Your constituencies are populated by multiple nationalities. How dare you take one side over the other? Politically motivated, fact-free attacks, slurs and name calling only serve to discredit the name callers. Step outside of your political suit and ties and try to see the big picture. The blood of Palestinians, Iranians, Israelis and Americans pour out from gunfire all the same. As far as I know Dennis Kucinich is just anti war, NOT anti-semitic. I have met him and had no issues. I am more concerned about a UFO comment that he made. Truth is I am anti-UFO. I dont think any of the sides have behaved appropriately. I think sanctions should be brought against all players involved until they get *it*. Now before all the Jewish readers get their panties knotted up, figure out a way to keep your religious sect and politics separate. I know it is so convenient to allow the guilt levying anti semite card to be played, but it is old, tired and worn out. This is all about your politics.

• Very telling that the Jewish bloc doesn't allow anything that hints at an alternative viewpoint. WTF are they afraid of? A dissenting point of view just might deflate their lobby balloon. If it isn't the Crazy Cubans dominating the SoFlo political agenda, it is the Jewish mob filling in the gaps north of the county line. Maybe Debbie W S can fill the void. What else is new? Disgusting behavior. What I find hard to believe is their lost opportunity to protest his presence. They are very good at that and never miss out on those events.

• Ms. Rab may be a "former Clevelander" but she is simply wrong about how "less beloved" DK is among present-day Clevelanders, who re-elected him with an 18% margin of victory last time around. And to call his presidential campaigns "quixotic" is equally wrongheaded, as it implies DK ran with an expectation of winning. In fact, he ran to draw attention to his worthy, in fact courageous stands on many issues: universal health care, abolition of the death penalty, ratification of the ABM and Kyoto treaties, ending the War on Drugs, recognition of same-sex marriage, among others. It's unfortunate that the local Dems cowardly inability to merely debate Mideast policy has deprived us of a visit from one of the most enlightened figures on the political scene. Meanwhile, Ms. Rab's ad hominem attacks ("creepy Elf") contribute nothing to the reader. We can get that sort of cheap, meaningless, juvenile invective from FoxNews.

• Maybe Mr. Kucinich votes consistently against Israel because he's more concerned with establishing peace in the Middle East than he is about blinding supporting one side of a complex issue for political expediency.

• Anyone who gives Dennis Kucinich the time of day is crazier than he is. I grew up in the Cleveland suburbs and let me tell you . . this man is one of the handfull of stupid idiots that ruined Cleveland . . an OLD money city is currently a laughing stock. This article is surprisingly accurate . . for your own good stay away or you will be just as embarrassed as those of us who have had to endure the outcome of his decisions. By the way as far as his district is concerned . . he has left those people high and dry . . it is a lower income area with mostly immigrents and blue collar working folks that truly want to believe in someone . . . however he BS's them all the way to the bank and has been for 30 years. • Kucinich has plenty of support. Just look at his "opponent", that is all you need to know. Most idiots like the ones in Palm Beach believe that this Country should take a backseat to the bullshit in the Middle East. You know what I am talking about, our "interest".

• This sounds more like a sour grapes piece about someone who votes against Israel. Kucinich is one of the few progessives in Congress who is willing to fight for the middle and working class of THIS country. Boo hiss.

• What sort of article is this? You call this journalism? In the '70s, the Boy Mayor allowed the city to slip into default. This is from wikipedia: Kucinich kept his campaign promise of refusing to sell Muni Light to CEI and was brave for not giving in to big business. Specifically, it was the Cleveland Trust Company that suddenly required all of the city's debts be paid in full, which forced the city into default, after news of Kucinich's refusal to sell the city utility. For years these debts were routinely rolled over, pending future payment, until Kucinich's announcement was made public. In 1998 the council honored him for having the "courage and foresight" to stand up to the banks and saving the city an estimated $195 million between 1985 and 1995. Shame on you Lisa Rab
