Happy Halloween: Vaguely Spooky Luxury Liner Leaves for Lauderdale

Categories: Broward

That's homemade footage of the world's largest cruise ship, seen leaving it's birthplace of Turku, Finland, bound for Fort Lauderdale. Set to make its posh premiere December 1 out of Port Everglades, Royal Caribbean's $1.2 billion, 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas offers titanic luxury, minus lurking icebergs.

The big boat has two-story loft suites and themed neighborhoods, ranging from a far less carnie-infested version of New York City's Coney Island to a Central Park, complete with live greenery.

A few weeks ago, I posted a virtual tour of the monstrous vessel here.
