Charlie Crist continues to lead in polls, but former House Speaker Marco Rubio has all the momentum in the battle for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. During a quarter when he appeared on the cover of the National Review, dominated straw polls, and received high praise from GOP luminaries like Jeb Bush and George Will, Rubio also raised $1 million.

Over on the Democrats' side, Kendrick Meek has a new challenger for the nomination: Maurice Ferre, who was Miami mayor but hasn't been in office since Alanis Morissette won the Grammy for Album of the Year. Since the ValuJet crashed into the Everglades. Since JonBenet Ramsey was murdered. That is, 1996. And Ferre is now 74 years old. I guess a campaign is more exciting than retirement, right?
