Lake Worth Commish Hopeful Scott Maxwell Tied to White Supremicists?

Maxwell: The crusade temporarily suspended

The Lake Worth elections slated for November 3rd just get weirder by the minute. As if the flap about Mayoral candidate Rene Varela's role in the sales of wild dolphins to a marine park in Dubai weren't scandal enough, now the Palm Beach County Environmental Coalition is claiming that one of the candidates running for City Commission may have ties to West Palm white supremicist group Stormfront.

Maxwell is one of the leading rabble rousers on illegal immigration: He sees the issue as a major problem facing Lake Worth. He's joined by a vocal coterie of local frothers including blogger Lynn Anderson. Until recently, Maxwell broadcast a radio program devoted to the subject, "Connecting the Dots on Illegal Immigration," which ran Thursdays at 8 pm on WBZT 1230 Clear Channel.

The program has been shelved, at least temporarily, along with Maxwell's web site, bordercontrolnow.com, in the weeks before the election. His Twitter site, NoToAmnesty, is still up -- although Maxwell's last tweet was in August ("bet you didn't know that california must open new school every day in perpetuity to keep up with immigration problems!" reads one of his last posts).

It seems Maxwell, who was recently endorsed by the Palm Beach Post for the District 1 Commission seat, is cooling off the rhetoric, at least until after the election.

Stormfront leader Black: Not seen palling around with Maxwell

According to the Environmental Coalition, Maxwell's guests on Connecting the Dots have included Steven Camorata, Director of Research for the Center for Immigration Studies. Camorata is one of the prime talking heads on the subject of illegal immigration, and he's been quoted on Stormfront forums -- which is apparently enough for the Coalition to connect its own dots. As far as we can tell, Maxwell has not been seen palling around with Stormfront leader Don Black, but who knows? Maybe they only meet under cover of darkness.

Coalition supporters will hold a press conference this afternoon at 5 p.m. to discuss the question of Maxwell's "ties to hate groups."

I won't be hosting anarchists in my home anytime soon, but the way Cara lives is inspiring. Perhaps not all of us can keep a backyard garden, drive a vegetable oil-powered car, and build our own solar panels, but doing little bits here and there can make things better. Cara, you're an inspiration.
People the best advise I can give you is research for yourself, FROM RELIABLE SOURCES. Don't just take written or spoken word to be fact. I have had the privilege of sitting at a meeting of a group of all Haitian Pastors and community organizers and at the head of that table was Scott Maxwell assisting and guiding them on organizing a neighborhood association within his district. People be weary when there are such loud voices screaming "bloody murder" it may be a distraction to draw your attention away from what is really happening in our city.
Thanks Tom for the informative blog. I found it more informative than those supposed articles I read on line that use people opinion as fact, lol. Southern law center and the other org they quoted are the racist organizations in my opinion. The fact that this anarchist organization that calls itself a environmental org told a store owner they would shut down their buisness if they host or rent space to anyone who they disagree is outragous, and maybe illegal. Somoen should look into that. It is by all means Un-America and cowardice. I hope Scott wins, people like this commissioner and the like of which she associates herself with is just wrong.
President Obama was endorsed by Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan, he has almost certainly been quoted by hate groups such as Stormfront, and even in anti American Newspapers and Media, all of which doesn�t make him a racist. I am not buying it, just because Mr. Maxwell had a guest on his show that was quoted on a racist website, doesn�t mean his guest or him has anything to do with racism. I mean if the New York Times quotes Bill Oreilly does that make Bill a liberal? Tell the truth you think immigration enforcement is racist. May I remind you that the 911 terrorist had overstayed their visas, certainly we now have dangerous terrorist crossing our boarders everyday. Have you forgotten the fact that many terrorist attacks have been stop by INS. America has to know who is crossing its boarders, and that makes Scoot Maxwell a patriot not a racist.
I've known Scott for 20 years and have never heard a racist comment from him. This crowd of wackos should find something constructive to do with their time. I would hope that Cara and her flock would realize that threatening a local shop owner is not an activity a City Commissioner should be engaging in.
The only "frothers" here are the ones spouting the hate and lies against candidate Scott Maxwell.
My guess is the typical person who is pro-white is less radical when it comes to racial politics than those who support Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Wright, and Al Sharpton. So, why don't "journalists" use comic book terms like supremacist and racist towards them? Because then they would have to call their black supporters -- just about all blacks -- racists or racist sympathizers.
If you found it on the internet then it must be true? What did you ever do without the internet? The University of Google or Wikipedia is not proper fact finding. Walk into any courtroom in America and tell the judge to look at the links your honor.

There is very clear, concrete ties between Scott Maxwell and several well-established hate groups at whoisscottmaxwell.blogspot.com You would have been able to find them for yourself at Scott Maxwell's own site, www.bordercontrolnow.com had he not taken it down in attempt to hide his affiliations while running for office. To clear things up: The only connection with Stormfront thus far is that people on the 'white pride world wide' website use the same sources for their statistics on immigration ...and neither of them can spell Steven Camarota's name right. Scott Maxwell misspelled his guest's name as 'Camarato', the same way 'Andreas' on Stormfront forum spelled it, which is why the connection came up so prominent in a search engine while initial research was being done: http://www.stormfront.org/forum/sitemap/index.php/t-47305.html The topic of that forum was militarizing the border. Do some research on Maxwell, then ask yourself: Would you be surprised if Scott Maxwell posted on the Stormfront site himself? There is a thin veil between Don Black of Stormfront and Dan Stein, the executive director of FAIR (Maxwell's primary hate group of choice). Last night activists targeted Nature's Way Cafe in downtown Lake Worth for renting the space for a Maxwell meet and great. The owner of Nature's Way received many phone calls and voice messages telling him they would urge others not to patronize his store if he hosted the event.
