Richard "Rick" Lemack was this close (642 votes) to becoming the Democratic nominee for Broward Sheriff. In August 2008, the ex-assistant police chief and assistant city manager of Hollywood, Lemack lost to Scott Israel, who then lost to Al Lamberti. We told you last month that Lemack was a finalist for the job of police chief in Gainesville. Looks like he missed on that gig. And now he's a candidate for the police chief job in Clearwater.

Looks like that job search has led Lemack to leave his job at G6 Investigations, the private investigator and security firm where he worked alongside Israel and his former boss, ex-Hollywood Police Chief James Scarberry.
