|Three years can feel like a long time in here.|
This summer, Bogenschutz helped soften the blow of charges against another ethically-challenged female politician, former Palm Beach County Commissioner Mary McCarty.
McCarty, who got nabbed for steering county bond underwriting contracts to her
husband's firm and enjoying a developer's gift of luxury hotel stays, is now residing at a minimum-security female prison camp in Bryan, Texas.
She was sentenced to three-and-a-half years, which is a far better fate than her fellow former commissioner, Toni Masilotti, who's serving five years for his corrupt land deals, and is now begging a judge to let him out early.
Perhaps Gallagher's looking to join McCarty in Texas. They could start a book club for disgraced South Florida politicians. First on the reading list: If I Did It.
