UPDATED: Kiddie Porn Offender Alexander Scholling Shacks Up Opposite School Bus Stop

Scholling: There's no place like home.

​WPTV reports today that the bus stop across the street from convicted sex offender Alexander Scholling's residence will be moved, thanks to a decision by the Palm Beach County School District yesterday.

Alexander Scholling, the Tequesta man who was arrested in 2005 when he took a computer filled with kiddie porn to a local computer repair store, was released from prison -- only to move into a house directly across the street from a bus stop in Jupiter transporting students to Bak Middle School.

The bus stop was relocated after parents and  lawmakers petitioned the Palm Beach County school board, a move that's becoming increasingly common across the country as parents freak out about potential child abductions.

Scholling was fingered as a pedophile by technicians at the store in November, 2005 when they found suspect photos in a file labeled "kinder" as they were installing a new hard drive in Scholling's computer. They promptly called the FBI.

Scholling was indicted in January of 2006 by a Federal Grand Jury and served just three years; he's now out on supervised parole.

We're not sure how his residence is legal, since the Jupiter town council passed an ordinance in 2006 banning convicted sex offenders from living within 2500 feet of a school bus stop.  But hey, at least Scholling's got a roof over his head, right? Sure beats sleeping on a public bench or under a bridge, like so many other sex offenders. And though the view from his livingroom window has gotta be great, at least we know he won't be handing out any Halloween candy.
